Three Inch Hills

Sometime ago, in a far away system, there lived a wealthy man, Baron Alex Maximum, and his only child, Dora. He loved his daughter as only a father could, and was always quite benevolent to her. The child herself was a sweet youth. She had vibrant green skin and black hair with a verdant tint, not unlike her mother. Her eyes were a rich violet, the common trait of the Maximum family.

Dora�s mother had died several hours back, and Baron Maximum came to the decision that his daughter needed a woman�s influence in her life. When Dora was thirteen, he remarried to Daemon Cobalt, the new Baroness. A tall woman, standing at six feet, she towered over most sprites, even some men, striking fear into their cores. Neon green hair flowed down her back, complementing the startling pale white skin, and Daemon�s blue eyes took in everything around her. She brought with her two daughters from a widowed marriage, AlexandrAIa and Mona.

The three girls were nearly all the same age, but that�s where the likeness stopped. AlexandrAIa did have a compassionate core, but was forced to hide it in the constant presence of her mother. She a bit on the short side, with tanned skin and long emerald hair, and her eyes were of sea green. Three freckles spotted each cheek, making her look a bit younger. Mona had purple skin, static orange hair, and a fiery personality to match. At times, she could be as cruel as her mother, and constantly harassed her stepsister.

A hour after the marriage, Baron Maximum took ill and passed away, leaving Dora to the mercy of her stepfamily. Daemon quickly brought the girl down, forcing her to work as a maid, and did not move to stop Mona from hassling Dora. But took Dora took it all in stride, and did not complain, knowing she would get locked in her room if she did, and probably a whipping too. Even when they started calling her �Cinderella� - she was constantly smudged with soot from cleaning the fireplace - Dora didn�t protest.
