Numbers
8-bit :
An euphemism for 'stupid' or 'dumb'. See basic.
A
Aphanumeric :
An euphemism for 'awsome' or cool'. See pixelacious.
ASCII :
A word for one's rear. See bitmap.

B
Basic :
An euphemism for 'stupid' or 'dumb'. See 8-bit.
Benign Virus :
A virus that lacks its normal viral abilites and generally has the morals and conscience of a normal, sane sprite.
Binome :
A lower-energy being, taking the shape of a number or sometimes a symbol such as ampersand (&); most commonly ones (1) and zeros (0).
Bitmap :
Another word for one's rear. See ASCII.

C
Cadet :
Someone on the first and lowest level of Guardian training.
Chatoic Virus :
A virus that is extremely random and dangerous. Considered insane, and should be avoid whenever possible.
Chron Virus :
An unique type of virus whom the extent of its abilities or purpose is yet unknown; have a great deal to do with time, almost obesessed with it.
Code :
One's programming, or way. For example, 'I can't go against my code'.
Codemaster :
A strange race of beings that there is little information about, except that they are mercenaries for hire and extremely powerful and dangerous.
Command.com :
Commander of a system.
Core :
One's heart. Also used in reference to the 'Core', or what powers a system.

D
Degrade :
The condition that forms under prolonged exposure to the Web. Starts out with scarring, leading to a melting and melding of facial features, body disfigurement, and deletion if allowed to continue.
Deletion :
The equilvalent of death.

E
Energy Sea :
All systems are surrounded by a 'sea of energy', but to fall into it would mean death. It is used as means of transportation for systems that have ports to the Net.

F
Format :
A person's title, place or job. For example, Bob's format is Guardian.
Function :
A person's duty. For example, a Guardian's function is to 'mend and defend'.

G
Game Character :
When one reboots into a game, they are equipped with new abilites and objects to help them win the game and usually a new appearence.
Game Cube :
Also known as game. A program sent by the User for entertainment. If one is caught in it, they can either reboot or stay out of the way of those who know how to win the game.
Game Sprite :
A sprite of very high AI (artifical intelligence) that exists only to stop the User, and sometimes players, from winning the game.
Game Stats :
Also known as game status. Information about a game, including title, objective, and abilites of the game characters. Most commonly gained through the use of a keytool.
Game Time :
The time that exists inside a game cube. It runs much faster than normal system time; game sprites dwell within this time.
Guardian :
A sprite trained at the Guardian Academy to win the games and take care of the problems that arise in systems.
Guardian Academy :
Where sprites are triained as Guardians. Based at the Super Computer.

H
Hacker :
A person with exceptional programming and hacking abilites. Usually outlaws.

I
Icon :
Every registered sprite and binome wears an icon at all times. It contains thier PID codes and allows them to reboot. Also allows them to change clothing formats with one click.
Infection :
The process of being 'infected' by a virus, or being converted to a viral foramt.

J

K
Keytool :
A tool used by the Guardians. Can do a number of functions, including games stats, video link, and tear mending.

L

M
Multiple Lives :
Sometimes, when playing a game, a User can have this option, so he/she/it can die more than once. Some game sprites and game characters can have this ability.
Merge :
The intergration of two viruses to form a new one, with access to both the original virus' abilities.

N
Nano :
The equilvalent of a second. For examples, 'I'll be back in a nano!'.
Net :
The world in which all the systems exist.
Null :
A small, colorful leech-like creature that is the end result of nullification.
Nullification :
When the User wins a game, all players are turned into nulls. There is no known process to reverse this condition.

O
Organizer :
A hand-held computer; can be minimized and maximized; commonly attached to the belt or waist.

P
PID :
Personal Identification. Contained in one's icon. If someone other than the original owner should get a hold of it, they can control the original owner.
Pixelacious :
An euphemism for 'awsome' or cool'. See alphanumeric.
Principal Office :
The main building from which most important procedures are done and where the Command.com controls the system.
Prime Guardian :
Head of the Guardian Academy.
Processor :
One's brain. Also can be used a verb. For example, 'What's processing?' (What's going on?).
Protocol :
Certain ethical standards programmed into a Guardian's code.
Port :
A means of coming and going between a system and the Net.
Portal :
A way of instant transport with in a system, between systems, or between a system and the Web.

R
ReBoot :
When one enters a game, they can double-click thier icon, 'rebooting' into their game character.
Random :
Something crazy or insane. For example, "She's just random!"

Search Engine :
?
Sector :
A part of a system.
Sprite :
A higher-energy being, i.e. Bob.
Super Computer :
Home to the Guardian Academy, and the largest system in the Net.
Supervirus :
A virus of the highest class, more powerful and dangerous than all other viruses; capable of mass infection.
System :
Somewhat like a city, divided into sectors. There is a countless number of systems in the Net.

T
Tear :
A large unit of erratic energy, caused by an explosion or sometime appearing at random. It is highly dangerous. Usually the Guardian of the system closes it with their keytool. If someone has the proper equipment or certain abilites, they can turn it into a portal.
Trojan Virus :
A virus capable of shifting form at will. When a Trojan Virus touches a sprite, it can take on that sprite's physical characteristics.

U
User :
The being who 'inputs games for pleasure', as Bob puts it. Little is known about him/her/it, except that is is vastly intelligent at times and basic at others, and sometimes picks strange and unusual games. This being also sends upgrades at times.
Upgrade :
A 'gift' of sorts sent from the User that helps a system and it inhabitants.

V
Vidwindow :
Common form of communication. Consists of a double-sided flat screen with audio and video capabilites.
Viral :
Anything or anyone that has been infected by a virus. Usually marked by bright colors and the virus's insignia.
Virus :
Sprites that have the ability to infect other sprites, binomes, and equipment. Grouped into several classes.

W

Web :
Almost an exact opposite of the Net. The Web is a horrible place, and few dare to enter it. Some creatures manage to exist there: the Web Riders and Web creatures. A regular sprite cannot survive long in the Web with the protection of Web armor. Otherwise they will degrade, starting with silver scarring, disfigurement, and finally deletion.
Web Armor :
Special armor designed from the skin of web creatures to protect one against the harsh enviroment of the Web. Can also be used to protect ships.
Web Creature :
Organisms that are able to live in the Web. They have a special layer of skin that protects them from the severe conditions of the Web. They are commonly hunted so their skin can be used as Web armor.
Web Rider :
Sprites that have become lost in the Web. Not much is known about them. They protect themselves with Web armor. They also use the Web creatures as steeds and hunt them.

Z
Zipboard :
Primary transportation of sprites. Much like a skateboard, but with flight capability. It is dependent on the system's power to function.
