This person walking by is just like you and me. He wears a long green coat with small spots all and a little dried grass on the back with ragged pants that have holes in the knees and shoes that look like they were once jogging shoes. He is wearing torn gloves that tries to keep his hands warm when it gets cold outside. He looks for a place that is warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
This person looks for only pride and enough shelter for him to live by. Sometimes he has to find a bench or something to cover up with. He watches people walk by that just turn their heads and never give another thought. He wishes that he could be just like that but he knows what is out there and having to live on the streets he knows he would help those in need. He would never turn away like people have turned him away. He struggles and finally forgives all those who have walked by and never helped him.
Someday he hopes that someone will walk by and suddenly stop to help him to where he is finally grateful. He will look at this person as his guardian angel watching over him. He makes sure that this guardian angel that is standing before him gives him another chance at life than just the life that he had on the street with nothing. He hopes that one day he will be able to tell his story of how he lived on the streets and then how he became successful. He sits there and wonders how many people have done that in their life.
His last thought of the night will be how cold it will get and where will he get his next helping of food. He prays to God to keep him safe and to get him through another day. He thanks God for everything that he has been given and asks for much more strength than he has. One day your life could be like this, so think before you act. |
