Christmas Crackers

Christmas Crackers are an old European tradition. Two people grasp the ends and tug until the package opens and a prize comes tumbling out. You can make your own crackers to use as placecards for your holiday table, presenting gift certificates or for small prizes. Roll a tube of cardboard into a tube and secure it with tape; put a gift, such as a refrierator magnet, candy, or small toy inside. Wrap the tube in tissue paper and tie the ends with ribbon. Add a label if you wish.

Advent Gifts

As the countdown to Christmas begins, add to the excitement with a takeoff on the advent calendar; advent gifts! Wrap up 25 small gifts and give each one a number instead of a name tag. Tuck them into a stair railing, or scatter them throughout the house and let family members take turns finding them. (Using the above Christmas Crackers is an ideal way to wrap these small gifts)
