| why "rising son"? Umm, this is sort of a pun. The sun, as you all know, rises in the east....kaiooshin-sama, before the other kaiooshins were killed by buu, was originally surveyor/god of the eastern quadrant of the universe....his character reminds me of a christ or buddha figure, thus the "son". also, I hope that kaiooshin-sama will rise in popularity in english-speaking countries...."rising son" is appropriate here too. if you can speak japanese, why do you support the "evil" FUNimation? First off, I'm a first-year student, which means there's only so much I can do in the way of watching japanese TV. Second off, English and Japanese are two TOTALLY different languages. Even subtitles are inaccurate. If you feel like blaming anything, purists, blame English because it's very specific whereas Japanese for the most part is actually quite flexible in meaning. The opposite is true for social status. (Why it's damn near impossible to translate Kaiooshin-sama's speech verbatim.) (ALTOUGH I am PISSED with them making Kibito call Kaiooshin-sama "Master"...Kibito-san doesn't give much deference to anybody, HE wants to be boss! [IMHO]) why do you never give the little purple god a sex life/FEMALE love interest/et cetera? three words. my. personal. opinions. you don't have to agree with them, but keep your disgust to yourself. i don't need to hear it, i have enough problems as is. besides, love is love is love. i just don't like it when anyone of ANY orientation rubs their "my sex life is right and yours is wrong" crap in my face. period. (And they are OPINIONS. XP) |
