Buck's Page
This page is dedicated to Buck
He came into my rescue and my heart in October of 2002.
He was very underweight and not trusting of anyone. If I made eye contact with him he would turn go away.
It is with patience and a kind hand that I have been able to halter him and treat the lice that he had when he arrived.
He will now come eat out of my hand but that is as much as he will trust for now.
I will not push him... his recovery and trust for me will come with time.
My heart breaks for what he has went thru in his life.
Please keep checking back as I will be noting all of his progress on this page.

Rest Easy

He approaches quietly, cautiously,
his neck stretched out as far as it will go.
One step at a time,
with a pause between quick breathes is all I can hear.
I sit quietly, daring not to breathe.
A fly tickles, but I dare not move,
He takes the carrot from my still hand,
retreating  to chew.
I long to reach out to him,
to explore his ears and forehead,
to find his favorite scratchy spot,
to gently clean the tears from his eyes.
But for today I will sit dreaming and blessing him.
Silently waiting for the day
when I can kiss his nose and whisper.
I am glad you were born,
you are safe now,
Rest Easy.
