| We'll be practicing 'til 6 in the morn' 11.28.01 |
| So this is the perfect time for a test in my class at Skyline...right when we're rehearsing for this big capoeira performance that apparently Santana will also be showing up for. Crazy. I've stayed up until almost 2 a.m. the past two nights taking notes. But I guess it's also my fault for putting it off until now. I'm not rushing, yet I didn't expect to be staying in class until so late. I wish I had someone to take pictures for me there or just to know that there are familiar faces in the crowd for support. I'm a little disappointed that friends aren't going to go see it...at least not that I know of. I suspect it will be my first (and last) major performance with the group, not counting those small demonstrations that we're rounded up for at the last minute. Queencie and I used to joke about being "performers" like we were stars of the group, but it's kind of cool now that I get to play a bigger role than just singing in the background. My hands are so numb I can't type that fast or that well. I heard back from the Brazil guy about the missions trip. He will call my references and I have to send in writing samples and fill out the loooong application. Things are rolling now, but it's nice not to have to rush on it. I really have nothing to write and I don't want to ramble so I'll stop here. |
