Does your dog mean everything to you? Do you refer to him or her as part of your family? If the answer to those two questions anything other than NO! you are in the right place. This is QT's Cafe, a dog- controlled environment with only pet-approved recipes. All dog recipes are taste-tested by myself, and my friend Pal. He's a very picky beagle.
I will be having the recipes to cookies, dog food, and other pet delights. My mommy might even make me include stuff for cats. But I guess I'll be nice and let her. All the cat recipes will be taste- tested by my baby, Cricket. And yes my baby is a CAT!
My favorite recipe is this one. Its the one I eat everyday. It came from VegePet, a place that makes healthy pet supplements to be used in homemade pet food. My mom has made mine two different ways. She made the kibble according to the directions but I am very visually orientated and I didn't like the shape of kibble (cubes are so boring to me), so she makes it into dog cookies for me. But, please, don't try to make this food without first buying Vegedog supplement and getting directions from VegePet. They are the ones who created this recipe and are the only ones who can really offer good advice on making it.
5 1/3 cups (635g) whole wheat flour
1 7/8 cups (190g) defatted soy flour (2 1/4 cups if whole)
7 tbs. (50g) corn meal or flour
2 1/2 tbs. (25g) yeast powder
1/4 cup (59g) oil
3 cups water (as necessary)
3 1/2 tsp. (23g) Vegedog
1/3 tsp. (1g) salt or 1/2 tbs. (8g) soy sauce
Optional: garlic powder
Grapes - I love grapes, but my friend, Pal, wouldn't touch them. However, the ASPCA has discovered that Grapes can be detrimental to a animals health, so make sure you aren't allergic first, and eat them in small quantities.
Carrots - These are very nutritious, and can stop bad breath!
Apples - But don't let your animals eat the seeds, they can be poisonous!
Bananas - My mom's first dog loved them, I think they don't have much A-Peel.
Peas - Buddy likes these, I don't.
Broccoli - Buddy also likes broccoli. I've learned that cooked broccoli isn't bad.
Rice - Not only is this tasty with a pinch of salt and flax oil, but it is also very healthy!
Corn - My favorite way to eat this right off the cob, infact, my mommy rarely cooks it. I just dig my teeth right in.
Purple Cabbage - Hey its not green, so that's a plus! I think it tastes pretty good, but for some reason, not all humans do.
Cranberries - they are like grapes, with a bigger Zing!Any questions? Please email either VegePet or QT
