Ladies Side Saddle Set Cira 1340

This tack set is a commisson piece by Deb Buckler for a Haggis Resin. It is a medieval womans side saddle with full breaching, breast collar and a custom made bridle for that hard to fit Haggis. Over 800 studs went into this piece as it was being constructed. As requested it sports a nice big buckle, hidden of course to use for the girth, and the only other buckle on the set is on the bridle itself. I've worked really hard on this set, and the reason the saddle was left plain is for the rider. She was finished from a Brenda Breyer who I gave a hair cut to, and redesigned her cloths for a period cotehardie, drawing the patterns out myself and having to handsew the entire outfit on her. Original Inspiration for this outfit came from an Illumination in the book called King Arthur that was just recently published.

Every piece of this set has been CUSTOM CUT INDIVIDUALLY. I designed the pattern I used for all of the trappings and cut each one separately. So of course not each one is perfect but the end result is, well, in my own opinion. Beautiful. Trying to design a side saddle wasn't easy either. So instead of trying to really recreate a medieval side saddle I used a more modern design especially for better seating a doll. This good horse stood for all of my poking and proding without stomping so much as a foot! Sure lives up to the name gentle giant! Thanks Deb Buckler and thank you Kitty Cantrell!!
