Mens Medieval Saddle Set Cira 1340

This tack set is a commisson piece by Deb Buckler for a Haggis Resin. It is a medieval mens saddle with full breaching, breast collar and a custom made bridle for that hard to fit Haggis. Over 800 studs went into this piece as it was being constructed. This saddle has three girth straps as was typical of the period. The rider was not done by me so I cannot make any claim to the correctness of period for him. Original Inspiration for this outfit came from a period painting of Galahad.

Every piece of this set has been CUSTOM CUT INDIVIDUALLY. I designed the pattern I used for all of the trappings and cut each one separately. So of course not each one is perfect but the end result is, well, in my own opinion. Beautiful. The saddle is typical of a medieval tilting or jousting saddle. High cantle and armoring in the front to protect the knight from the blow of the lance. It also sports a "cradle" which was designed to hold a lance correctly during jousing. I have to say that Haggis is an incredible horse, just beautiful all the way around and I'm so very proud to say that I own him. Thanks Deb Buckler and thank you Kitty Cantrell!!
