The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, where the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. Genesis 6: 4
This somewhat nebulous text has been the source of mush debate for thousands of years. While there is some argument over the identity of the "Sons of God", most historians and Bible scholars believe them to be angels. The easiest definition for the Nephilim then would be some one who was half-angel, half-human. The next line about the "heroes of old" is the one that floors me. Is it possible that Hercules and many of the other mythological/legendary figures of literature and history were actually the Nephilim? This is definitely food for thought. For any of you who have put two and two together and figured this has something to do with Jennifer Drake then give yourself a prize.
