This interlude page reveals one of the many different legends around the origin of King Arthur. This particular legend was a little more obscure, so Matt thought he'd introduce it. It is very similar to Moses in that Arthur was put to sea in a basket as a baby and was discovered by Merlin near his cave dwelling. In Cornwall there is a cave the locals claim is Merlin's cave. You can explore it at the beaches in Tintagel. Matt's added an otherworldly element which you won't mostly uncover-but you'll never know! The cave lies directly below the ruins of Tintagel castle. Full of atmosphere and drama, this is the most famous cave in Cornwall. It pierces the great Cliff on one side (as in this issue) and cuts through to a small rocky beach on the other side of the headland. Matt's given Merlin's Cave a more mystical feel by adding the expanded interior cavers with all of the Egyptian artifacts and writings inside. He forshadowed the Egyptian Gods involvement all the way back in the first one-shot, go back and look!
