Ishmael, an American soldier, was stationed in London when the Awakening struck. He joined with Jennifer Drake and Merlin to try and help with the massive amounts of refugees pouring in every day and to assist in stopping Morgana and her army. He has a warrior's heart and is a soldier by profession, but Ishmael has a tremendous respect for life. Born into the Moslem faith, he bears witness as Christian legends unfold and have life before his eyes while still adhering to his parents religion. In the new world he doesn't fight for his country, but for the protection of the survivors around him and by extension the people that are left in the world.
