| As anyone who really knows me can tell you, I absolutely love to read. I usually always have some kind of book with me. Choose one of the links below to go to either the homepage of one of my favorite authors or a page I made myself if that particular author does not have a site. There are only these four so far, but I'll have more up soon. Feel free to email me if you have any suggestions. Douglas Adams Author of the incredibly funny Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. These books are wonderful, I promise. They're a laugh and a half. The Hitchhiker series is about the adventures of British citizen Aruthr Dent and his friend Ford Prefect as they go from one corner of the galaxy to the other trying to find the question to the answer of the question of life, the universe, and everything on thirty Altarian dollars a day. T.A. Barron T.A. Barron writes fantasy books. Right now, he seems to be concentrating on the Young Merlin series. I've only read a few of these, but they are excellent fast-paced magical stories. I've read a couple of his other books as well, and they are all wonderful. Brian Jacques Brian Jacques is the author of the Redwall series. His site is really cool, so check it out! There's a club, and even a place where you can find recipes from the books. However the Pasque that runs the kitchen is not me. Anne McCaffrey Anne McCaffrey writes the bestseller series The Dragonriders of Pern, among others. I have read almost all of her books, and they are all wonderful, although some scenes are not meant for children. Robin McKinley I've only read a few of her books. The Damarian Trilogy is my favorite, though I have only read the first two of them. Check out The Unofficial Robin McKinley site for more info. Tamora Pierce I've been reading Tamora Pierce books forever, it seems. She writes her books in quartets, or series of four. Once again, check out her site for her public appearances and samples from her books. Anne Rice Anne Rice has written The Vampire Chronicles, among others. Most of these are narrated by The Vampire Lestat, who is probably one of the very few members of the undead with a sense of humor. They're kind of long, but make an excellent read for a rainy day or a dark night. Jane Yolen An author of fantasy books, Jane Yolen has written more than I can list here. For younger readers, I recommend The Dragon's Boy, while I think The Pit Dragon Trilogy is better for slightly older readers. |
