Welcome to Denise's Updates
(find my LJ page for more frequent info, but I am not all that frequent even there)
Late October, 2004. This is the camp that I'm buying. I will hold a "Re-Vamp the Camp" weekend or 2 (or 10!) at varying intervals until I feel it's "done". Go to my online registry at HomeDepot if you want to help but can't see trekking out to the wilds of NH ;-) Yes, more pictures will follow, and the closing date is on Nov. 1st. 2004 (yay meeting life goal of owning land by age 30!)
Nov 17th, 2004. The closing was on Nov 4th, woohoo! One delay isn't bad, considering what many people go through... More pre-cleanup photos are what I'm adding, and on Friday I'll take some post-clean-up pics. We did a lot of work on Sunday, ripping the little flowers and reflectors off the house, removing the trash, and adding a handrail. Next steps will be to finish cleaning the interior, to get the electrical system redone, and to paint the exterior. Will keep you posted
Nov 30th, 2004. After the first cleanup (photos actually taken on 12th). It definitely is better than it was, but still needs more work, ofc... tis' a work in progress
Late March, 2005. "Re-Vamp the Camp" weekends will be upcoming, now that I *think* we've had the last major snowstorm of the year, even though there's still snowcover up there. I've spent the weekends cleaning on Sat. nights/Sunday days when I've been up there, but snow has precluded getting much done. The pipes froze up in December, have been replaced, but untested as to water-worthiness. The pump also needs to be primed and tested to see if it is now in need of repair/replacement. I have a few full weekends (no clinic on Sat) from mid-April through early May, so that would be the most opportune time. I have a friend who's willing to pick up some metal kitchen cabinets for me this week, those will need installation/cleaning/maybe painting, and ofc, the wiring needs work, and getting the pump/water back on... And, once I get a permit in place, I may order a shed, which will require a concrete slab, and to be bolted together/to said slab. (a Shed-raising, so to speak, but this may have to be a Sunday later in the summer).

4/30-5/1

If there's a weekend amongst the above that you'd be willing and able to come assist with the cabin, please let me know, via email/phone. If you have special talents that you're willing to offer, do list those too! This poll will be open until I get enough bodies to get things done! ;-)
Apr 17th, 2005. Internal photos finally posted below. These are not *quite* what I dealt with on first taking over the cabin (there were photos stapled everywhere. Not so bad at the point of these photos, tho I didn't get the locker in these shots (ah, next time). Did a lot of work this past weekend, have 6 of the 8 metal kitchen cabinets in place, though they need paint touchups, counters could use to be sanded, etc. Still looks a heck of a lot better!
May 2006. Pregnant! I'm due on December 8th, 2006, but look at the belly already! No, we don't intend to find out what its gender is, but if it turns out to be twins (we have our suspicions, we'll let you know!
Belly...
August 2006. The verdict is in... It's only one, and it's a he! To give an idea of the change in my shape, see an old pic of me, and a new one, in the same dress!
