I ordain you With these simple words, my beloved mentor and the sister of my heart changed my life forever. Not just my life either. During this beautiful ceremony where I stepped from my old life into a new one, we all felt the powerful presence of the Divine. But when I was presented to the Lord and Lady as not just the Priestess I had been but as a minister of their will, I felt the Spirit of the Divine enter me and enfold my spirit. This simple act of declaring my desire and intention to spend my energies in their service transformed me. Their spirit was a very real and palpable experience. I was euphoric, peaceful, excited, eager, complete - blessed.

With the memory of this special night still burning within me, I began my ministry. By choice I am not part of a coven. I prefer to offer my services to the Pagan community at large. I entered my vocation with joy and exuberance and a burning desire to help as many individuals as I could and at the same time, provide the community as a whole with classes, events, and organizations which I believed would benefit them. I have found the work most satisfying and I have been extremely happy.

Much to my sorrow, I heard a close friend say a few days ago that she hesitated to come to me with problems, concerns, etc. because I was always so busy and had so much on me; that her issues were not important enough to bother me with. I was speechless - well, almost. Those of you that know me know that that is not a condition that often afflicts me.

Yes, I am busy and I do have a lot of commitments and they do keep me hopping. BUT, this is the path I have chosen. This is the work I want to do - the work that I have incarnated in this life to perform. When I knew that I wanted - no, needed - to dedicate my energies to further the will of the Goddess here on this plane, I knew that it would require a great deal of my time. I give this willingly and gladly. It is She who has set my feet on this path. I am here at Her behest to serve Her will and to help those who follow Her. I am never too busy for anyone who needs my help. Without the community, I cannot fulfill my oath and obligation to the Lady.

It is my hope that this article will alert you to the plain and simple fact that even though your clergy are here to serve and help you, without you we would not be able to fulfill our promises to the Divine. So, PLEASE, do not hesitate to come to me or your own personal clergy with your issues, problems, concerns, ideas. We are here to help but your willingness to allow us to help is vital to us. It is a never-ending cycle. We help someone and that helps us so that we can go on helping others.  Also, when we see you grow and overcome obstacles, we, too, experience joy and accomplishment.  As you grow in your spiritual paths we see the promise of new priestesses and ministers.  We are here to serve you and by serving you, we serve the Lady.

In addition, we learn valuable lessons from you.  Everyone has something to contribute and we can all learn from others.  Never feel that you are a burden.  It is a cooperative effort and the more who actively participate in the process, the more all can gain.  This all serves to further the knowledge and love of the Divine within our community and within our world.
