A Reflection of Ourselves
By: Linda Reichert

We criticize other faiths, but we say we want acceptance of our own.
Many left the ways of Christianity because we weren't happy and we call them
hypocrites, but what do we do now to make our new found faith any better?
Are we as individuals any better than where we came from?

We say we are women of the Goddess, so what sets us apart from others?
A priestess is a mirror, she reflects back to the world the Goddess she
serves.
What kind of Goddess are you reflecting?

We complain about our society and what it is doing to us, but what do you
do to make a difference? Do you live your life in a way to make our society
better?
How do you live your life any different?

We complain about other people and how they are; are you a reflection of
that very person you so despise? Have you come from a place where that
person is now?
Are we too busy looking at everyone else to see our own self?
How are you different from anyone else?

We go around and claim we don't want to be judged, but do we judge?
We teach, "be true to yourself, be who you are," but when people do, do we
make fun of them and criticize them because they are different?
If so, what makes us different from anyone else?

In anger, we want revenge. Sometimes we shut people off for making a
mistake, and yes, our own hurt is very valid, but do we hold that in our
hearts with a grudge?
If so what makes us different from anyone else?

We claim our paths are better, we claim we want to be spiritual, we claim we
know the Goddess who is wise and is all things, but when we are spiritual
only one day a week,
what makes us any different?

You want to receive blessings of abundance, but what do you give and when
you give, is it freely from the heart?

When we join together I hear the echoes, "there is no spirit," but what have
you done to bring spirit to the sacred space?

Do you live like everyone else or do you truly seek enlightenment? Do you
look beyond yourself and know other people are struggling with their own
shadows, seeking their own path? So many times, I hear blame placed on our
parents for how we are, how we have been hurt, but they, too, did not have
all the answers. Our parents as well, had their own shadows and were seeking
their own paths. They may not have been as fortunate to find a place that
taught about self responsibility, wisdom and enlightenment.

When you are at your job proudly proclaiming your faith, do you show them
that it has made a difference in your life? Do you show them, you are a
caretaker of the earth, that you're a happier person with unconditional
love. Are you understanding and caring?

As we so harshly, at times, criticize others do we really believe that we
are better, that we are above? We are all equal and we are all valuable.
Some just find their path and wisdom quicker than others, some have their
own lessons they must learn, some have been here many life times and those
that have, are here to share with those who have not.

In no way does any of this mean you're supposed to be weak or a doormat for
anyone.
But you are the artist of your own life, you have the choice to paint it any
way you desire.
Every moment of the day and every situation is yours to choose what you will
do and how you will react. Will you react like everyone else or will you
draw from the ancient source of wisdom that we proclaim to follow? We teach
by example!!

The only way to change the world we live in, is to change ourselves. Even
though at times it seems like an endless worthless battle, it is not. You
may never know that one person's life you may touch one day, because you're
not like everyone else.

Everyone in the world creates their own truth. For truth is an individual
thing. This is the most ideal situation. For if others had to create your
truth you would be a slave of their creativity.
Please be aware that your truth is worth more than the stories in a million
books. Remember....you are the Goddess and creator celebrating your
individuality in physical form.
LIFE IS A DO-IT-YOURSELF JOB!!

do something. And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do
something that I can do."
