Sisterhood: The gift of actively reaching out to one another, serving both the authentic self and the health of the whole

Women have the reputation of being back-biting, back-stabbing, petty and  down right malicious to each other. This is what women have been taught in the past few generations. Society has seemed to tear apart all that is good and all things that were once sacred. In ancient times women were wise. They knew the power a group of women held. Women in tribes worked together, raised the children together, joined in ritual and celebrations together and shared all responsibilities together. The Great-Grandmothers and Grandmothers passed their stories down to the younger generations and it was their duty to pass the stories onto the next generation.

It is seldom today that women ever come together. Women have been hurt by one another and have shut themselves off from having female friends. It truly saddens me to hear so many painful stories of how women have been hurt because of petty behavior and gossip.

Women in the past years have had to compete with each other for better jobs, better pay and equal working conditions. Instead of being competitors, women need to be role models for one another. Women are muses, who need to be an inspiration to each other.

Women need to be able to look at one another and see Gaia, Cerridwen, Aphrodite.  The Goddess dwells in all women, as the God does in all men. We are all her daughters.

Women have the gift of nurturing and the gift of healing and community building. We need to once again learn to love and respect ourselves so we can love and respect others. We need to come together once again and build community. It is our responsibility to build a community, for our young women today who will pass this on to the next generations to come. We need to provide a place for our women to come for support, encouragement, stories of wisdom and a listening ear without judgment or advice. It is time for us to come together and make a change as we honor our ancient traditions and the Divine Mother. Honoring ourselves and honoring other women is also a way to honor our Goddess.

You may be asking; how can we undo all the damage that has been done over the years?
It begins with YOU!! One woman at a time. Once we begin to change ourselves, it will spread to others. We need to take responsibly for ourselves and empower ourselves as women and stop blaming each other.

Let your spark become the flame that changes everything!!
