My Crystal Theory

by Jennifer Cornett

A conversation I had at work about religion got me thinking a bit about all the different faiths/paths out there and how best to explain my belief that everyone is right in their own way, and that no one is necessarily wrong.

As I thought about this, the image of a large, many-faceted crystal (or prism) popped into my mind. And that's when it clicked for me.

The Crystal represents Deity. Or, more accurately, what is inside the crystal represents deity. Whether it be God (the Christian god); The God or The Goddess (or both); an unseen force, the Universe; whatever you want to call it, that is what is inside the crystal. No matter what the name, it's all the same thing.

The facets represent religions. Each facet is a different religion. So, basically, the reason that each religion views Diety as something different is because they are all looking in through a different facet. It's not that anyone is wrong, it's that everyone is perceiving things differently based on what facet they are looking through. Kind of like 2 people looking through 2 different windows of a room. They might both describe that room differently, but neither would be wrong, and both would be correct.

In truth, I guess no one will really completely know, but I like to think we are all basically the same and going to the same place in the end, no matter what we believe while in this form.
