| THE SWIMMER There once was a swimmer in the ocean of life She swam like the wind and played in the moonlight She swam strong and straight never fighting current or wave Viewing sun, wind and cloud without a problem to brave Then as life would have it one day she did see The swimmer he came swimming strong as could be She swam up to him and she smiled, so did he And they swam though the day with the sun on the sea As dusk, it did fall in the westernmost sky She started to fear to be left by and by She grabbed onto the swimmer and could not even think To swim by herself 'til the end, with no link? One swimmer is strong when he swims quite a lot But to carry them both he simply could not She clung and she grasped to keep herself near She was drowning the swimmer as he tried to swim clear She finally let go and he swam straight away Gasping for breath as he left her that day She looked for her swimmer to return to her side Then a stranger appeared and she latched on for the ride She held onto the other with all the strength that she had Then she saw it was pointless she'd only be sad She sank into the depths the sea all around She blamed the poor swimmer for letting her drown As darkness engulfed her she finally found That her not swimming was why she'd gone down So she finally let go through the depths she arose Away from the darkness with the currents and flows As she broke through the surface she saw the sun and the sea And the wind and the sky she was finally free M.
