TUMBLER TILES TUTORIAL




    PREPARING
  1. Open tube, height maximum: 320 px. or resize to 320
    A tube larger then width works best
  2. Duplicate tube (Shift D) and close original
  3. Chose a light colour from tube and select it as foreground
    colour in the material box
  4. Chose a darker colour for your background colour box
  5. Edit - Copy
  6. Minimize Tube

    BACKGROUND TILE
  7. File � New Image (400x400, transparent)
  8. Selections � Select all
  9. Edit � Paste - Paste into Selection
  10. Selections � Select none
  11. Layers � New layer (raster)
  12. Floodfill layer with light foreground color
  13. Layers � Arrange � Send to bottom
  14. Layers � Merge � Merge visible
  15. Effects � Image effects � Seamless tiling: default
  16. Adjust � Blur � Gaussian blur: radius of 25
  17. Effects � VM Distortion � Tumbler: settings:
    Generator 1, 2 and 3: 128 and Direction: 128




  18. Effects � Texture effects � Blinds: settings:
    Width: 5, Opacity: 30, Horizontal checked, colour =
    background colour
  19. Effects � Texture effects � Blinds: settings:
    Width: 5, Opacity: 30, nothing checked, colour =
    background colour
  20. Duplicate your image (Shift � D)
  21. Minimize your copy
  22. We continue with the original image
  23. Effects � Image effects � Seamless tiling: default
  24. Image � Resize � Resize to 25 %, bicubic
  25. Your background tile is now ready, minimize

    BACKGROUND
  26. File � New Image (1280 x 400, transparent)
  27. Go to your material pallet and put your background color
    (box) to pattern



  28. Chose your settings: angle 0, scale 100,
  29. Chose your background tile as pattern
  30. Flood fill the Background with your pattern
  31. Optional: Effects � Image effects � Seamless tiling: default
    (should not be necessary)
  32. Layers � New raster layer
  33. Flood fill with your foreground colour (material box)
  34. Lower the opacity of your layer to 40 - 80
    You should be able to see the tile through it. I chose 70, 58 and 62.
  35. Layers � Merge � Merge all (flatten)

    FRAME
  36. Activate your copy of the image
  37. Image � Resize - Resize to 95 %, bicubic
  38. Effects � 3d effects � Inner bevel: settings:
    Bevel: 2, Width: 4, Smoothness: 0, Depth: 4, Ambience: 0,
    Shininess: 0, Angle: 315, Intensity: 50, Elevation: 30



  39. Layers � Duplicate
  40. Image � Resize � Resize to 95 %, bicubic,
    Resize all layers: not checked
    You can also chose for resizing 90 %. Look at the
    difference between example one and two.
  41. Layers � Duplicate
  42. Image � Resize � Resize to 95 %, bicubic,
    Resize all layers: not checked
  43. Optional: Layers � Duplicate
    If you prefer three squares skip step 42 and 43. If you
    prefer four squares walk through these steps.
  44. Image � Resize � Resize to 95 %, bicubic,
    Resize all layers: not checked
  45. Layers � Merge � Merge all (flatten)
  46. Edit � Copy

    BACKGROUND
  47. Activate your background again
  48. Edit � Paste � Paste as New Layer
  49. With your Mover Tool in Toolbox move the frame to
    the left corner.
  50. Activate the copy of your tube
  51. Edit � Copy
  52. Activate your background
  53. Edit � Paste � Paste as a new layer
  54. With your Mover Tool in Toolbox move the tube to
    the left corner and position it nicely
  55. Effects � 3d Effects � Drop shadow: settings:
    Horizontal & Vertical: 4, Opacity: 50 and Blur: 15
  56. Layers � New raster layer
  57. Add your watermark
  58. Layers � Merge � Merge all (flatten)
  59. File � Export: JPEG Optimizer with compression of 20-25

    FINISHING
  60. Open Letter Creator
  61. In your Body open your background
  62. In your body tile
  63. In your Footer mention your credits
  64. Finish
