TUMBLER TILES TUTORIAL
NEEDED:
- PSP
- Letter Creator
- Tube of your choice: wider then tall works best
- VM Distortion: Tumbler

LEVEL:
Beginner with basic knowledge of paint shop pro, letter
creator and filters.
PREPARING
- Open tube, height maximum: 320 px. or resize to 320
A tube larger then width works best
- Duplicate tube (Shift D) and close original
- Chose a light colour from tube and select it as foreground
colour
in the material box
- Chose a darker colour for your background colour box
- Edit - Copy
- Minimize Tube
BACKGROUND TILE
- File � New Image (400x400, transparent)
- Selections � Select all
- Edit � Paste - Paste into Selection
- Selections � Select none
- Layers � New layer (raster)
- Floodfill layer with light foreground color
- Layers � Arrange � Send to bottom
- Layers � Merge � Merge visible
- Effects � Image effects � Seamless tiling: default
- Adjust � Blur � Gaussian blur: radius of 25
- Effects � VM Distortion � Tumbler: settings:
Generator 1, 2 and 3: 128 and Direction: 128
- Effects � Texture effects � Blinds: settings:
Width: 5, Opacity: 30, Horizontal checked, colour =
background colour
- Effects � Texture effects � Blinds: settings:
Width: 5, Opacity: 30, nothing checked, colour =
background colour
- Duplicate your image (Shift � D)
- Minimize your copy
- We continue with the original image
- Effects � Image effects � Seamless tiling: default
- Image � Resize � Resize to 25 %, bicubic
- Your background tile is now ready, minimize
BACKGROUND
- File � New Image (1280 x 400, transparent)
- Go to your material pallet and put your background color
(box) to pattern
- Chose your settings: angle 0, scale 100,
- Chose your background tile as pattern
- Flood fill the Background with your pattern
- Optional: Effects � Image effects � Seamless tiling: default
(should not be necessary)
- Layers � New raster layer
- Flood fill with your foreground colour (material box)
- Lower the opacity of your layer to 40 - 80
You should be able to see the tile through it. I chose 70, 58 and 62.
- Layers � Merge � Merge all (flatten)
FRAME
- Activate your copy of the image
- Image � Resize - Resize to 95 %, bicubic
- Effects � 3d effects � Inner bevel: settings:
Bevel: 2, Width: 4, Smoothness: 0, Depth: 4, Ambience: 0,
Shininess: 0, Angle: 315, Intensity: 50, Elevation: 30
- Layers � Duplicate
- Image � Resize � Resize to 95 %, bicubic,
Resize all layers: not checked
You can also chose for resizing 90 %. Look at the
difference between example one and two.
- Layers � Duplicate
- Image � Resize � Resize to 95 %, bicubic,
Resize all layers: not checked
- Optional: Layers � Duplicate
If you prefer three squares skip step 42 and 43. If you
prefer four squares walk through these steps.
- Image � Resize � Resize to 95 %, bicubic,
Resize all layers: not checked
- Layers � Merge � Merge all (flatten)
- Edit � Copy
BACKGROUND
- Activate your background again
- Edit � Paste � Paste as New Layer
- With your Mover Tool in Toolbox move the frame to
the left corner.
- Activate the copy of your tube
- Edit � Copy
- Activate your background
- Edit � Paste � Paste as a new layer
- With your Mover Tool in Toolbox move the tube to
the left corner and position it nicely
- Effects � 3d Effects � Drop shadow: settings:
Horizontal & Vertical: 4, Opacity: 50 and Blur: 15
- Layers � New raster layer
- Add your watermark
- Layers � Merge � Merge all (flatten)
- File � Export: JPEG Optimizer with compression of 20-25
FINISHING
- Open Letter Creator
- In your Body open your background
- In your body tile
- In your Footer mention your credits
- Finish
