TREE HEART TUTORIAL



    PREPARING
  1. Open your tube, largest side no more then 360 pixels.
  2. Duplicate tube (Shift D) and close original
  3. Choose a medium colour from tube and select it as foreground
    colour in the material box
  4. Choose a dark colour from tube and select it as background
    colour in the material box
  5. Edit � Copy
  6. Minimize tube
  7. For creating the heart, you can choose here between two
    possibilities: using a selection or a slat.

    Selection
    Open your Tree Heart Selection from the files: While
    downloading choose �open� and not �save� and then your
    selection should open into PSP
    Selections - Load/save Selection - Save Selection to disk
    or if you use the slat.

    Slat
    Open your Tree Heart Slat from the files. While downloading
    choose �open� and not �save� and then your slat should open
    into PSP.
    With your magic wand click once in the black, hit delete
    once and you have your Tree Heart Selection. Here as well:
    Selections - Load/save selection - Save Selection to disk

    BACKGROUND
  8. File � New Image: 1580 x 400, transparent
  9. Effects � Eye Candy 5: Textures � Wood:
    • Settings: Cedar
    • Basic:

      Ring Thickness: 6.00, Pulp Color: foreground color,
      Bark Color: background color, Variation Amount: 28,
      Variation Roughness: 23, Contrast: 30, Wood
      Orientation: 90 and Seamless Tile: checked.
    • Knots, Grain & Panels: default

  10. Layers � New Raster Layer
  11. Flood fill this layer with your foreground color
  12. Lower the opacity of this layer to make it more text
    friendly to a number between 50 and 80. The pattern should
    shine through though.
  13. Layers � Merge � Merge all (Flatten)
  14. Selections � Load/Save selection � Load Selection
    from disk: Select your Tree Heart Selection, Source luminance
    checked, Replace selection checked, Load
  15. Layers � New Raster Layer
  16. In your background color box choose a light color from your tube
  17. Effects � Eye Candy 5: Textures � Wood: settings:
    Same settings. One change. In your basic change pulp
    color to your new background color. Change your bark
    color to your foreground color.
  18. Selections � Invert
  19. Effects � 3D Effects � Outer bevel: settings:



    Bevel: 2, Width: 4, Smoothness: 0, Depth: 6, Ambience: 0,
    Shininess: 0, Angle: 315, Intensity: 50, Elevation: 30
  20. Selections � Select none
  21. Edit � Paste � Paste as New Layer
  22. With your mover tool move your tube to the left
    and position it nicely on top of the heart.
  23. Effects � 3D Effects � Drop shadow: Vertical &
    Horizontal: 3, Opacity: 40, Blur: 10 and Color: Black.
  24. Layers � New Raster Layer
  25. Add your watermark
  26. Layers � Merge � Merge All (Flatten)
  27. File � Export � JPEG Optimizer: save with a
    Compression of 22.

    FINISHING
  28. Open Letter Creator
  29. In your body open your background and tile
  30. Mention your credits in your footer
  31. Finish
