ON A MARBLE PLATE TUTORIAL




    PREPARING
  1. Open tube, height maximum: 350 px.
  2. Duplicate tube (Shift D) and close original
  3. Minimize Tube
  4. Choose a light colour from tube and select it as foreground
    colour in the material box
  5. Choose a darker color from your tube and select it as
    background color
  6. Choose one of these colors for your heart. Open your
    Materials Properties box of this color and note down the
    Hue and Saturation of this color.


  7. Open your heart tube
  8. Adjust � Hue and Saturation � Colorize: change the Hue and
    Saturation numbers into the number you noted down
  9. Minimize your heart
  10. Open your mask
  11. Save your mask: Layers - Load/Save mask � Save mask in
    your mask directory

    BACKGROUND
  12. File � New Image (1280 x 400, transparent)
  13. Effects � Alien Skin: Eye Candy 5: Textures: Marble, with the
    following settings: layered style, bedrock color = foreground color,
    vein color = background color, feature size: 49.84, roughness: 56,
    grain 15, rotation 0 and seamless tile: not checked.



  14. Effects � Texture effects � Blinds: settings: Width: 6,
    Opacity: 44, Color is background color, nothing checked
  15. Effects � Texture effects � Blinds: settings: Width: 6,
    Opacity: 44, Color is background color, Horizontal checked
  16. Effects � Image effects � Seamless tiling: settings: edge and
    Vertical checked, width: 51, transition: 50
    If you have a light background you can skip steps 17 � 20 and
    continue with step 21
  17. Layers � New raster layer
  18. Floodfill with your light foreground color
  19. Lower the opacity of your new layer to 50-80
  20. Layers � Merge � Merge all (Flatten)
  21. Your background is now ready, minimize

    MASK
  22. Check the exact measurements of your tube. To the width of
    the tube add at least 50 and remember that number.
  23. File � New Image: height: 370, width: width of tube and 50,
    transparent
  24. In your Materials Box put your background color box to
    Gradient.


  25. Click once in the color box
  26. Settings: Select Foreground-Background color, Angle: 45,
    Repeats: 3, Lineair style, Invert NOT checked
  27. Floodfill your new image with your gradient
  28. Layers � Load/save Mask � Load mask from disk



    Settings: Select your saved mask: Slattubes58_kris, Source
    Luminance, Fit to canvas, Invert transparency and Hide all mask are
    checked
  29. Layers � Merge � Merge group
  30. Effects � 3d effects � Inner Bevel



    Settings: Bevel: 2, Width: 4. Smoothness: 0, Depth: 4, Ambience: 0,
    Shininess: 0, Angle: 315, Intensity: 50 and Elevation: 30
    The Following two steps are optional:
  31. Effects � Texture effects � Blinds: settings: Width: 6,
    Opacity: 44, Color is background color, nothing checked
  32. Effects � Texture effects � Blinds: settings: Width: 6,
    Opacity: 44, Color is background color, Horizontal checked
  33. Edit � Copy

    BACKGROUND
  34. Activate your background
  35. Edit � Paste � Paste as New Layer
  36. With your mover tool move your mask image to the left
  37. Effects � 3d Effects � Dropshadow: Vertical & Horizontal: 1,
    Opacity: 100, Blur: 1, Color: black
  38. Activate your tube
  39. Edit � Copy
  40. Activate your background
  41. Edit � Paste � Paste as New Layer
  42. With your mover tool move your tube to the left
  43. Position it nicely on top of the mask image
  44. Effects � 3d Effects � Dropshadow: Vertical & Horizontal: 3,
    Opacity: 40, Blur: 10, Color: black
  45. Activate your heart
  46. Edit - Copy
  47. Activate your background
  48. Edit � Paste as New Layer
  49. With your mover tool move to the left top corner
  50. Effects � 3d Effects � Dropshadow: Vertical & Horizontal: 3,
    Opacity: 40, Blur: 10 and Color: black.
  51. Layers � New raster layer
  52. Add your watermark
  53. Layers � Merge � Merge all (Flatten)
  54. File � Export � JPEG Optimizer: compression of 22

    FINISHING
  55. Open Letter Creator
  56. In your Body open your background and tile
  57. In your Footer mention your credits
  58. Finish
