COUNTRY SQUARES TUTORIAL




    PREPARING
  1. Open tube, height maximum: 370 px.
  2. Choose a light colour from tube as foreground color
    (material box)
  3. Choose a dark colour from tube as background color
    (material box)
  4. Duplicate tube (Shift D)
  5. Close original
  6. Edit - Copy
  7. Minimize copy of tube

    BORDER TILE
  8. File � New Image (100x100, transparent)
  9. In your toolbox chose your selection tool: Selection



  10. Then in the presets line chose �custom selection�.
  11. In the custom selection box use these settings: Top: 0,
    Left: 0, Right: 50 and Bottom: 50
  12. Flood fill with your flood fill tool in the tool bar your
    selection with your foreground colour
  13. Selections � Select none
  14. Layers � Duplicate
  15. Image � Flip
  16. Image � Mirror
  17. Layers � Merge � Merge visible
  18. Layers � New raster layer
  19. Flood fill your new layer with your background color (flood fill tool)
  20. Layers � Arrange � Send to bottom
  21. Layers � Merge � Merge all (flatten)
  22. Image � Resize � Resize to 50 %, bicubic

    BACKGROUND
  23. File � New � New image: 1280x1200
  24. Activate your selection tool in the toolbox.
  25. Chose for presets: rectangle, add, feather:0, anti-alias
    checked
  26. If you have your rulers not activated, do so now:
    View - Rulers
    Startingpoint: 50 horizontal and vertical (50-50). Go to 100
    horizontal and 1200 vertical (100-1200). Go back to your
    startingpoint and drag now to the endpoint of 1280 horizontal
    and 100 (1280-100) vertical.
  27. Layers � New raster layer
  28. In your material box chance colour to pattern



  29. Click once and select your new tile in your material properties
    box with settings: Angle: 0 and Scale: 100
  30. Flood fill your selection with your pattern
  31. Selections � Select none
  32. Effects � 3d effects � Inner Bevel, with these settings:



    Bevel: 2, Width: 4, Smoothness: 0, Depth: 4, Ambience: 0,
    Shininess: 0, Angle: 315, Intensity: 50, Elevation: 30
  33. Effects � 3d effects � Drop Shadow: settings: Horizontal &
    vertical: 4, opacity: 45, blur: 15
  34. Repeat the Drop Shadow but now with horizontal & vertical: -4
  35. Select your bottom layer
  36. In your material box change your pattern to gradient



  37. In your Material Properties Box use these settings: Foreground-
    background, Angle: 45, Repeats: 2, lineair style. You go to this box
    through one left click.
  38. Floodfill your layer with your gradient
  39. Effects � Texture Effects � Mosaic � Glass: default
  40. Effects � Distortion Effects � Curlicues: settings



    Settings: number of columns: 12, number of rows: 12, Radius: 00,
    Strength: 100, nothing checked.
  41. Optional: Effects � Edge effects � Enhance
  42. Select your top layer
  43. Edit � Paste � Paste a new layer
  44. With your mover tool, move the tube in the top left corner.
  45. Effects � 3d effects � Dropshadow: horizontal & vertical: 4,
    Opacity: 45, Blur: 15
  46. Layers � New raster layer
  47. Add your watermark
  48. Layers � Merge � Merge all (flatten)

    FINISHING
  49. File � Export � JPEG Optimizer (between 22-26)
  50. Open Letter Creator
  51. In your Body open your background
  52. Do NOT tile!
  53. Choose matching color for text, choose margins
  54. In your Footer mention your credits
  55. Finish
