COLORFUL CHAINS TUTORIAL



    PREPARING
  1. Open your tube
  2. Duplicate your tube (Shift D)and close original
  3. Chose a light color from tube as foreground color (materialbox)
  4. Chose a dark color from tube as background color (materialbox)
  5. Edit - Copy
  6. Minimize your copy of the tube

    BACKGROUND
  7. File � New � New image of 1280 x 400 pixels
  8. Selections � Select all
  9. Edit � Paste into Selection
  10. Selections � Select none
  11. Effects � Image Effects � Seamless tiling: at default
  12. Layers � New layer (raster)
  13. Flood fill layer with light foreground colour
  14. Layers � arrange � send to bottom
  15. Layers � Merge � Merge visible
  16. Adjust � Blur � Gaussian Blur with radius 35
  17. Adjust � Add/remove noise - Add noise: settings:
    Gaussian checked, noise: 12 and monochrome not checked
  18. Effects � Texture effects � Mosaic Antique: with these settings:
    Number of columns: 25, number of rows: 25, Tile diffusion: 100,
    Grout width: 2, Grout diffusion: 50, symmetric checked



    Optional: you might need to lower the opacity of the
    background in your layer palette to make it more text friendly.
    Or you can add a layer and floodfill this with your foreground color
    and lower the opacity of this layer.
  19. In your material box put your background to gradient



  20. In the material properties box: settings: angle 45, repeats: 1
  21. In your toolbox chose selection
  22. In your presets chose selection type: ellipse, mode: add and
    anti alias checked.
  23. On your background chose a start point vertical in the centre at 200
    and horizontal around 100 - 150 depending on the tube and your
    preferences. Don�t draw it until the top/bottom but leave a space
    Vertically of at least 50 pixels.
  24. Layers � New raster layer
  25. Flood fill with your gradient
  26. Effects � 3d effects � Inner bevel: settings:
    Bevel 2, width: 4, smoothness: 20, depth: 4, ambience: 0, shininess: 15,
    Angle: 315, intensity: 50, elevation: 30




  27. Effects � 3d effects � Drop shadow: settings:
    Horizontal & vertical: 4, Opacity: 45, Blur: 18
  28. Repeat drop shadow with horizontal & vertical: -4,
    other settings stay the same
  29. Effects � Image effects - Seamless tiling � settings



    Corner and vertical: checked, vertical offset: 0, transition: 50
  30. Selections � Select none
  31. Edit � Paste � Paste as a new layer
  32. Move your tube to the left and position it on a nice spot
  33. Effects � 3d effects � Drop shadow: settings:
    Horizontal & vertical: 4, Opacity: 45, Blur: 18
  34. Layers � New raster layer
  35. Put your watermark on this new layer with your picture tube tool
  36. Layers � Merge � Merge all (flatten)
  37. File - Export � JPEG Optimizer � compression of 20-25

    FINISHING
  38. Open your Letter Creator
  39. In your body open your background and tile
  40. In your footer put your credits
  41. Finish
