CIRCLES AND STRIPES TUTORIAL
NEEDED:
- PSP
- Letter Creator
- Filter Factory C: Tile Mix: http://www.stevesdesktopphotography.com/plugins.htm
- Tube of your choice
LEVEL:
Beginner with basic knowledge of paint shop pro, letter
creator and filters.
PREPARING
- Open tube, height/width maximum: 400 pixels or resize to maximum 400
- Duplicate tube twice (Shift D) and close original
- Choose a light color from tube and select it as foreground color in the
materialbox
- Choose a dark color from tube and select is as background color in the
materialbox
- Edit - Copy
- Minimize Tube
BACKGROUND TILE
- File � New Image (200x200, transparent)
- In your materials box in your background box chose gradient
- In your materials propriety box chose foreground-background gradient with
the following settings: angle 90, repeats: 3, lineair style, not inverted
- Floodfill layer with gradient
- Effects � Filter Factory Gallery C � Tilemix: with the following settings
settings: Mixing: 192, Radius: 160
- In your tools box chose Selection Tool.
- Chose Circle, replace, feather: 0
- Activate your tube image
- With your circle selection draw a circle of about 150 x 150
- Image - Crop to selection
- Edit � Copy
- You can now close this down
- Activate your Image of 200 x 200
- Edit � Paste � Paste as a new layer
- Lower opacity of this new layer with your circle to 10 � 20. Your circle
selection must just be visible
- Layers � Merge � Merge visible
- Your background pattern is now ready
- Minimize
BACKGROUND
- File � New Image (transparent) of 1280 x 400
- Choose in your materials box for pattern
- Select here your newly made background pattern
- Choose angel: 0. scale 100
- Floodfill your background with this pattern
- Your background is ready for now
- Minimize
TUBE IMAGE
- Activate your second tube copy
- Image � Canvas Size: Width: 600, Height: 600 pixels, placement middle/center
- Layers � New raster layer
- Floodfill with your light foreground color
- Layers � Arrange � Send to bottom
- Optional: Adjust � Add/remove noise � Add noise: Gaussian of 08,
monochrome or Effects � Texture effects (chose your texture)
- Activate tube layer
- Effects � 3d effects � Dropshadow to your liking: I used: H&V:3,
Opacity: 45, Blur: 12
- Layers � Merge � Merge visible
- In your tools box chose Selection Tool.
- Choose Circle, replace, feather: 0
- Draw a circle starting from the center of your tube image, just have
the tube image all covered
- Image - Crop to selection
- Selections � Select all
- Selections � Float
- Selections � Defloat
- Effects � 3d Effects � Inner Bevel: with the following settings:
Bevel: 2, Width: 6, Smoothness: 0, Depth: 6, Ambience: 0, Shininess: 0,
Angle: 315, Intensity: 50, Elevation: 30
- Selections � Select none
- Image � Resize: resize to 375 pixels width and height, bicubic
- Edit - Copy
- You can then close this tube image (Tip: you can use this as your tag,
resize and add your name and effects, then export as gif)
BACKGROUND
- Activate your background
- Edit � Paste � Paste as a new Layer
- Move with your mover tool to the left end (keep a little
place open from top, bottom and left end)
- Effects � 3dEffects � dropshadow: to your likings (same as before)
- Activate bottom layer (with pattern)
- Layers � new raster layer
- Floodfill layer with your light color. Lower opacity. You must see the
pattern layer easily through it, but it will have now a good matching color
and you can easily put and read text on it
- Layers � new raster layer: add your watermark
- Layers � Merge � Merge all (flatten)
FINISHING
- File � Export � JPEG Optimizer (between 20 - 25)
- In Letter Creator open your background
- In body don�t forget to tile
- Choose a matching color for your text
- Don�t forget your credits in your footer
- Finish
