"Fandemonium"
MXG Magazine, 1999

Every time the TLC single, No Scrubs, came on the radio we all sang along. So we decided we needed to talk to the girls about their Fan Mail album, (thats the beauty of this job, we can call random celebrities all in the name of journalism.) Lisa Lopes (shes lost the eyepatch and nickname) answered our nosey questions.

MXG: You girls just got back from Japan, did you chow on raw fish there?
LL: I dont like sushi and Tionne doesnt eat seafood so we stuck with stuff closest to
American.

MXG: So what does TLC like to eat?
LL: I love seafood (ed.just not the raw type). Tionne loves soul food like oxtails and collard greens and Chilli eats healthy
stuff like veggie burgers and rice milk.

MXG: You list every fan who ever wrote to you on the new albumsmart!
LL: It was my idea. We all contribute but Im very conceptual. I was already coming up with ideas for the next album before we finished this one.

MXG: Who would TLC write fan mail to?
LL: Chillis would definitely be to MichaelJackson, Tionnes would be to Patti LaBelle, but shes met her already so I dont know if that counts. Id probably write to the prince of Saudi Arabia or someone who runs a country. I admire the control they have.

MXG: Sounds like you should be a business woman.
LL: I love writing business letters. If I had to walk away from the music tomorrow, I wouldnt sweat it. Im a quick learner. But right now I dont have the time to do everything.

MXG: Whats the opposite of a scrub?
LL: We say hes the jam all the time but Im trying to use less expressions like that. My favorite word right now is expeditiously. I use it every day.

MXG: Impressive. Sounds like youre all grown up.
LL: Yes, yes, yes. I still have far to go but we have come so far. We got distracted by personal and business issues but I think weve learned to stay focused and not lose sight of the big picture.
