Mark's role isn't a big one but it's important. He plays Wesley's Uncle Lamar. Lamar comes to Mattie's rescue ( I won't say how... but it's funny!) and loses his wallet in the process. Mattie, not being able to curb her curiosity, reads a letter tucked in the wallet from Wesley to Lamar, asking Lamar to get him out of the Young Men's Rehabilitation Center. |
Walking Across Egypt stars Ellen Burstyn as Mattie, an aging, lonely, God-fearing southern woman, Jonathan Taylor Thomas as Wesley, a troubled 16 year old, juvenile deliquent, and Mark as Lamar, Wesley's uncle and local dog-catcher. |
One thing leads to another and Mattie meets young Wesley. A friendship developes between them as Wesley thinks Mattie might be his long lost Grandma. |
I don't want to spoil the movie so I won't say much more except that it is funny in places and thought provoking and serious in others. Whether you are 8 or 80, you will love this movie! |
Check out the Official Mark Hamill Fan Club Site for more pics from the premier. Lots of other pics and information on Mark can be found there. Super site! |
I still cannot believe one of the major studios hasn't snatched this up for the big screen! It's a wonderful, thought provoking, serious and funny movie. I cried, I laughed then I laughed and cried somemore! Great family entertainment! |
