And I'd ..

The rules bear down like a whip upon my flesh.
A dire Romeo and Juliet scenario.
The thought of your smile makes all of the consequences seem worth it. And I'd brave the gauntlet as long as you're waiting for me at the end.
Because nothing hurts as much as the silence that your absence brings.
The silence tears apart my everything,
And makes my world so dark and cold,
and makes my chest feel numb with loss.
And I'd jump into the ice for you,
until my lips turned icy blue.
When the last few breaths escape my lips,
As long as you'd jump in there too.
And I'd make the sun turn the darkest black,
as long as I could get you back;
from the icy depths which you have veered,
We'll both go far away from here.
