Chapter Thirty-four
Eight months later
Robin stood in the bridal
room and looked into the mirror. She was
wearing a long, full white silk dress with antique lace over it. The top was the off the shoulders type to set
off her elegant neck and she had on white silk gloves. She looked beautiful and she had never been
so happy in her life.
Brenda walked up behind her
and put her hands on Robin’s shoulders.
“I can’t believe that my little sister is getting married,” Brenda
sighed. “I may not like the choice in
groom,” Robin gave her a sour look, “no, hear me out. I may not like the groom, but as long as you are
happy I’m all for it, but there is one more thing. Something old?”
Robin smiled when she saw
where this was going. “Check, my mother’s vial.
Uncle Mac had been saving it for me.”
“Something new?”
“My dress of course.”
“Something borowed?”
Robin looked at her, she
hadn’t thought of that.
“No need to worry,” Brenda
reached into her purse and pulled out a black velvit box. “Jax gave this to me after the wedding. I think you should wear it.” Robin opened the box. Inside was a necklace of a delicate gold
chain and one teardrop pearl.
“Oh, Bren,” Robin hugged
Brenda tightly. “It’s beautiful, thank
you.”
“And do you have something
blue?”
Robin picked up her bouquet
to show Brenda the small blue baby’s breath.
Brenda smiled, “Okay, you’re all set,” Brenda waddled over to where her
dress was. “I still don’t see why you
insisted on having someone as fat as me, in the wedding.”
“Oh, come on, you are not
fat. You’re just pregnant.”
“Yah, very pregnant.” Brenda rubbed her belly. Her and Jax had been so happy when they had
found out that they were going to have a baby, and even twice as happy when
they found out that Brenda was going to have twins.
“Well you don’t have to
worry about being the only pregnant person in the room,” Brenda’s eyes got big
and she turned around and looked at Robin in shock. Robin saw the look on her face. “Oh, god, not me you silly. Felicia and Dara are both pregnant. It seems that the only people who aren’t
pregnant are Erin, Liz and I.”
“And that’s a good thing,”
Brenda gave Robin a silly grin.
“Pregnancy is highly over-rated.
It’s not as fun as it looks.”
Lucky checked his looks in
the mirror. He ran his fingers through
his hair to try and get it under control.
“Man, I have no clue how you talked me into this.”
“You aren’t going to try to
back out of this now are you?” Jason
asked fixing Lucky’s tie.
“How did I ever let you talk
me into singing at your wedding? I don’t
even see why you would want me to; it’s not like I’m a good singer or
anything. I haven’t sung in public sense
the Nurse’s Ball two years ago.”
“If I didn’t know any better
I would say that you are nervous,” Jason joked.
“Now come on, all you have to do is stand up there and sing. Think of it as you are singing to
Lucky thought that
over. “Well, I guess I could live with
that.”
There was a nick at the door
and someone pocked his head in. “It’s
time.”
“It’s now or never
man.” Lucky followed Jason out the door
into the chapel.
Robin took a deep breath to
steady herself. She smiled up at her uncle;
the man who had raised her for most of her life; the man who now, was going to
walk her down the isle to the man she loved.
The music started and the doors opened to the chapel full of people. She didn’t even notice it when she started
walking down the isle, the only thing that registered, was Jason standing at
the other end of the isle.
Jason’s breath caught in his
thought when he saw Robin. She looked
like an angle moving toward him. He had
never seen anything more beautiful in his whole life. Their eyes met and took no note of anything
else.
The first part of the
service was perfect, then it came time for Lucky to get up and sing. He almost didn’t but just by chance he
glanced over at Liz and he knew that Jason was right, he could sing the song to
Liz, and only they would know it. Lucky
got up and sang and the whole church was silent, the only sound was his
voice. Lucky looked at Liz and couldn’t
take his eyes away, Liz was sitting in the front row so it worked out perfect.
Liz’s eyes were glued to him
the whole time. She felt like he was
singing it her. She had never heard
anything so beautiful.
The rest of the survise
finished up just as beautiful as it had started.
At the reception
To everyone’s surprise the
reception was held at the Quartermaine mansion in the ballroom, and an even
bigger surprise was that the Q’s were able to get through the whole evening
without getting into a fight. Lucky and Liz were the last to leave.
“That was so beautiful, I
don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it in my whole life.” Liz said with a sigh as Lucky led her to his
car.
“Well I can think of
something that is much more beautiful,” Lucky said looking into Liz’s eyes
seriously. “Do you know how much I love
you?”
“I don’t know, but you can
show me.” Liz said with a mischievous grin.
Lucky took Liz into his arms and kissed her deeply.
The penthouse
Jason carried Robin over the
thresh-hold into their home. Welcome home Mrs. Morgan.” Jason
whispered into her ear.
“I like the sound of that,”
Robin paused and a brod smile spread itself over her lips. “I got a call from my doctor yesterday…”
Jason looked at her worried. “No, it’s
nothing bad. Just the oposite, he said
that the medication worked.” Robin
didn’t have to finish what she was going to say.
Jason smiled and kissed her
deeply. “Then I guess we have more then
one think to celebrate tonight. How come
you weighted till now to tell me?” Jason
teased.
“You know Brenda, she
insisted that we stick to tradition. She
wouldn’t let me talk to you within 24 hours of the wedding. You should have seen how excited she was, you
would think that she was the one getting married.” Robin said with a laugh.
“Well I don’t care when you
told me, I would have weighted my hole life to hear this. What do you say we celebrate?” Robin squealed as Jason picked her up and
carried her to their room.
Nik’s car
“So are you going to tell me
why you are staying with Brenda and not in your apartment?” Nik asked curiously.
“Ever sense Brenda had that
early delivery scare she shouldn’t be left alone, and with Jax out of town I
offered to stay with her. Besides I
don’t want there to be any chance that I might interrupt Jason and Robin,”
“Well you know you could
stay with me while they are gone.” Nik
winked at her.
“And you think Jason would
go for that? If he even heard you
suggest that he would have you beaten to a pulp.”
“Well it was worth a try,”
Nik shrugged. “I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“Yah, just be here by 11,
okay?”
“Gladly.” Nik walked
Liz’s apartment
After Liz had returned home
from
Before Liz had moved into
the apartment Ruby had, had the whole place painted and re-carpeted. Her excuse was that the last renters had
trashed it, but the last owner had been Brenda and that was two years ago.
“Did you see the look Ruby
gave me when she saw me kiss you? She
looked like a mother bare protecting her cub.”
Lucky joked.
“Yah, ever sense I told her
about the rape she has been very protective of me,” Liz gave Lucky a sly smile
and leaned over to whisper into his ear.
“But as long as I have you around I don’t need any protection.”
Lucky took Liz’s face in his
hands and kissed her with everything that he had. They started to make their way to Liz’s room
when Lucky stopped.
“Wha…”
Lucky held a finder to Liz’s
lips. “I’ve been to a lot of weddings
but this one was different, it made me think.
Watching Robin walk down the isle made me realize how much I love you,
and…and I decided the next person I want to see walk down the isle is you. I guess what I’m trying to say is this,”
Lucky took Liz’s hands in his and looked deep into her eyes. “Elizabeth Webber, will you marry me?”
Liz looked up at him with
tears in her eyes. “I thought you would
never ask.” Liz pulled Lucky down to her
and kissed him as an answer.
“Is that a yes or no?” Lucky asked joking.
“Take a wild guess.” Lucky leaned down and kissed her, they made
their way to the bedroom, and the rest is history.
THE END!
