Chapter Thirteen
The next morning (Thursday)
“Morning Robin.”
“You shouldn’t be making
breakfast. You made dinner last
night.” Robin said sitting down at the
table.
“You helped too, so
technically I didn’t make it. Anyway I
wanted to cook breakfast, I love cooking and it’s been almost 6 years sense I
did any real cooking so I think it’s time for me to catch up for lost time.”
“How did you get all this
done so fast? Jason and I didn’t hear
you come in.”
“I came in very
quietly. I’m good at that.”
“You sure are. Have you gotten a chance to talk to your
father yet?”
“Yes, he call around 3 this
morning. It took about 2 hours but I
finally got him to consent to me going to public school. All I need to do is get Jason to sign the
papers and I’m set,” Jason came down the stares. “I hope you like pancakes.”
The next day (Friday)
At Luke’s (in Luke’s and
Jason’s office)
“Jason I have an idea how to
help
“Huh?” Jason glanced up from
the books.
“It’s really hard when you
go to a new school and I was hoping I could introduce
“Okay.” Jason said not quite paying attention.
“Good, I’ll pick her up
around 8.” Lucky turned to leave.
“Wait a moment,” Jason said
now paying attention. “Why are you
picking her up?”
“I’m going to take her to
meet some of m friends from school so she knows someone other then me.”
“Where are you going to go?”
“Back to my house. I’m having a party and we’re going to watch a
few movies.”
“It’s fine with me, but
you’ll have to ask her.”
“No prob. Do you have her number? I’ll call her right now.” Jason wrote down
“Hello?”
“Hi
“Yes?”
“This is Lucky. We met at my father’s club a few day
ago.” Lucky said hoping she remembered
him. He thought that he feel like a
complete looser if she didn’t.
“Nothing much. Tonight a bunch of friends and I are going to
have a movie party at my house and I was hoping you would like to come.” Lucky asked casually.
“I’d love to come. I haven’t seen a movie in a ling time.”
“I’ll pick you up around 8,
okay?”
“Sure, do you know where I
live?”
“At Jason’s?” Lucky guessed.
“Close, right across the
hall.”
“I’ll see you around 8
then.”
“Okay see you then.”
“Bye.”
“Bye Lucky.”
Lucky Hung up the
phone. “I’ll see you latter Jason I have
to run some errins.” Lucky left and
walked home. He wasn’t sure why but his
heart hadn’t stop beating a mile a minute sense her call
“Hey Cowboy. You’re mom and I are just about ready to
leave all I have to do is put these bags in the car. Don’t burn down the house while we’re gone.” Luke picked up two bags and took them out to
the car.
Laura came into the living
room. “Lucky, LueLue is staying at your
grandmother’s house for the weekend so you have the house to yourself. You and your friends have a good time tonight,
okay.” Laura kidded Luck on the forehead
and followed her husband out the door.
Lucky watched his parents
drive away. The whole weekend with no
parents and no little sister to watch.
He really wouldn’t have minded if he had to watch his sister. He loved his little sister she was so sweet
not to, even when she was in a bad mood she was sweet. The phone rang and Lucky answered it. “Hello?”
“Hey man. We still on for tonight?”
“Yah, be here around
“Who?”
“That new girl Erin.”
“Oh really?”
“I want to you go easy on
Erin. She’s new to the aria and I don’t
want any of my idiot friends freaking her out, okay?” Lucky said seriously.
“Yah man. What ever you say.” Devon said, a little set
back at Lucky’s protectiveness.
“Good see you at
