Chapter Nine

Erin’s apartment

Erin I don’t think this blood is going to come out,” Robin looked over at Erin sitting at the other end of the couch.  She looked so small and lost.  Robin couldn’t help but reach out and rap her arms around her.  Erin broke down in Robin’s arms and cried.  Robin sat there for an hour rocking her and softly singing to her.  “Would it make you feel better if I stayed the night here?  I know when something terrible happens to me or someone I know, I don’t like to be alone-But if you want me to go I will.”

“No, please don’t go.” Erin managed to say between sobs.

“Okay.  I won’t go anywhere.  Though I do think you should get some rest.  You’ve had a long day.  Come on I’ll help you get you to bed,” Robin pulled the covers up around Erin. “Sleep well.  I’ll be in the room across the hall if you need anything.” Robin turned out the light and stood in the doorway and watched Erin fall asleep.  Robin had only met her a little less then 12 hours ago but she felt an attachment to her, even more then she felt towards Brenda.  It seemed almost to be a parental attachment.

Jason’s penthouse

“How did this happen?”  Jason asked after Erin and Robin had left the room.

“I don’t know. One moment everything was quiet the next there were shots.  We have no clue were they even cam from.”

“What did the cops say?”

“They want to talk to Miss Brown.  Garcia and Taggert said they would come by here tomorrow morning at nine.”

“Okay fine.  I want you to put someone on this right now.  I want to know who did this and why.  I’ll take care of the rest.”

“Yes sir.”

Erin’s room

Erin fell asleep practically instantly.  Moments latter she was in a room she didn’t know.  She watched the whole day play-out, she relived every moment of the day only now she could see.  It was like watching a movie in her head.  She saw Jason standing by the window, she saw Amy at the nurse’s station, and she saw Robin at the Outback.  She saw Carrie on the docks, she saw Sam as he carried her to the car.  She saw everything.  Then everything went black again.  Erin sat up and screamed “NO!!!” Not again, she thought.  This couldn’t be happening to her again.  She could see but everything was black again.

Robin ran into Erin’s room.” Are you okay?”

“No,” Erin sat in her bed sobbing.  “I saw it.  I saw everything.”

“What do you mean?” Robin sat on the edge of the bed.

“I could see everything that happened.”

“It was only a dream Erin.  Only a dream.”

“No, it wasn’t a dream.  I’ll prove it to you.  Jason has blond hair, kinda short, blue eyes, tan skin, and he’s kinda buff.  Yesterday he was warring a navy blue silk shirt and a navy blue suite, not really fancy, but sorta’ nice.  You have dark hair, dark eyes.  You were warring a blue T-shirt with blue jeans, and your hair was up in a half ponytail,” Erin paused to get her breath.  “Now do you believe me OR shall I tell you more?” she asked urgently.

Robin sat speechless.  Wha…how?” she couldn’t find the words to say what she was thinking.  The only words she could get out were; “Please explain.”

“I don’t know how to explain it.  Some how when I was asleep I could see everything.  The closest thing I can compare it to is kinda like a delay reaction.  I don’t know, like my brain just didn’t register it until now.”

“Has this ever happened before?”

“This is the first time ever,” Erin sat quiet for a few moments.  “Do you think that I should go see the doctor about this?”

“Most definitely.  Maybe they can find out what caused this.”

“Robin, do you mind if I ask you a personal question?”

“No.  Go ahead.”

“How did you and Jason meet?”

“Oh it’s a long story.”

“We have all night.  I don’t think I can get back to sleep.”

They sat and talked for hours.
