Chapter Three

The next day (Sunday)

Erin’s things arrived and Sam (one of Jason’s bodyguards) brought them up to Erin’s room.  Erin had explored the rest of the apartment and found it to be amazing.  The two empty rooms would be perfect for her to bring her workshop from home and set it up there.

She told Jason what she wanted to do and he said that she could do anything to make herself feel at home.  She kept the conversation as short as possible.

Erin found herself looking forward to having her tutor come.  “Only one more day until she arrives.  I can handle that.”  Erin had the habit of talking to herself when she was alone.  She made the call to have her other things delivered.  It would take two days to get there.  She could have them in a day but she was in no hurry.  Erin sat down the bed and picked up one of her favorite books.  She never went anywhere without her books.  It was hard to find good books in brail.  Her favorite books were sci-fi, horror and mysteries; right the she was reading a Star Wars novel.  She was so engrossed in her book that she didn’t hear someone knocking on the door downstairs.  A buzzing sound jerked her out of her book and back to reality.  She moved quickly down the stairs and to the door.

“What?” she asked annoyed.

“You got a package in the mail.  I’m just delivering it to you,” Sam said.  He was a little intimidated of her.  If he didn’t know better he would swear that she could see.  Earlier that morning when he was delivering her things she had known who he was before he had said anything.

“Oh, okay.”  Erin took the package.  She closed the door but then thinking better of it she opened it again.  “Sam, what does the return address say it’s from?”

“It says Seattle, Washington,” San told her after he looked at the package again.

“Thanks.”  Erin closed the door again and sat down on one of the couches.  She opened the package slowly and carefully.  She wondered whom she knew in Seattle.  There was a book and a letter.  To her surprise the book and letter were both in braille.  The book was a collection of Shakespeare plays.  The letter read:

Dear Erin,

Don’t be too hard on Jason.  You two are a lot alike.  I should know.  Both of you are strong willed and neither of you likes to be told what to do by strangers.  I would (and do) trust him with my life.  If I can trust him, why can’t you?  I hope you enjoy the book.  I couldn’t remember which plays Miss Carelson had you read, but these are good.  I’ll be in touch.

As always love,

Sonny

Erin had to smile to herself.  Sonny always knew exactly what to say to her.  She missed him, ever sense he left the organization, which was almost two years-she had only seen him twice.  Scratch that she thought, she had only talked to him in person twice.  And that was on the anniversary of the accident.  This year it would be the sixth th anniversary.  Erin’s eyes filled up with tears at the memory of the accident and what she had lost.
