Chapter 34

Jason, Sonny, and Jax crept their way through the darkened house.  They had left Luke to explain to Nikolas and Lucky that they had been tricked and that the other men had left without them.  It had been easy for the three men to make it into the house, but the women were not in their rooms so they had begun to search the house for them.  The three stopped at a corner.  “I think it would be easier if we split up.  Jax you go left, Jason you go to the right, and I’ll continue on strait.  We’ll meat back here in 20 minuets.”  Sonny whispered.  No one complained and they all went in their own directions.

Sonny continued on his way until he was back at Robin and Erin’s rooms.  He turned the doorknob and entered Robin’s room.  To his shock he found a teenage girl making the bed.  She looked up and smiled as if she knew him.  Sonny tried to act as if he was supposed to be there.  “I was looking for the young woman that was staying in this room, do you know where she might be?”

“Mrs. Morgan and Miss Brown are no longer here.  But I would think that you would know that already Mr. Corinthos.”

Sonny looked at the teen in shock. When he recovered his speech, he spoke to the teen, “How is it that you know my name?”

“Robin told me about you, you are easy to recognize by her description.  I take it that you do not know that her and Erin have left.” Ally said quietly.

“No I didn’t.  Where did they go?”

“To meat up with you.”

“Thank you.”  Sonny turned and started to leave.

“Sir, now that you are here, do you think you can do a favor for Erin?” Ally was going out on a limb but she had to try something.  Sonny turned around and looked at her.  “I don’t know if you know it, but Miss Brown’s father is being held here too.  He told her that he had a way of escaping once she was gone, but I know he just said that so she could get out of here alive.  Do you think you can get him out too?”  Wile Erin and Robin had been weighting for the right moment to make their escape they had been talking to Ally and told her everything along with Robin’s true name. Ally had promised she would do anything she could to help Charlie get out too.

“Charlie’s alive?  Here?”  Sonny asked, once again in shock.

“Yes, I can take you to him if you like.”

“Please.”

“Follow me.” Ally walked over to the far wall and ran her finger along the wooden paneling until she found what she wanted.  After a second a section of the paneling popped away from the wall and Ally pulled it the rest of the way open.  “This is the only way to get there without anyone seeing you, so stick close behind me.”  They walked through the darkened hallway for a few minutes.

“How do you know no one else will be in these passage ways?”  Sonny asked in a whisper.

Ally looked back at him and gave him a soft smile.  “Because I’m the only one who knows about them, that’s why.”

The passageway seemed to go on forever.  They went around twist after turn, and up and down countless stairways until Sonny couldn’t take it anymore and began to get claustrophobic.  “How much longer?”  He asked between gasps for breath.

“Not much farther.  Are you okay?” Ally asked worried.

“I’ll be fine I just get a little claustrophobic.”  Sonny forced himself to slow his breathing down and to relax.

“We’re almost there.” Ally turned right one last time and came to a dead end.  She looked through a peering hole to make sure that there was no one in the room, she then gave the wall a firm push and it swung out noiselessly.

Charlie sat up in his bed surprised.  Sonny stepped forward and held out his hand to stop him from getting up farther.  “Don’t worry it’s just me, Sonny and…”  Sonny looked over at the teen.

“You remember me don’t you Sir?  I’m Ally I was your nurse when you first came here.” Ally stepped up just behind Sonny.

“Yes I remember you.”  Charlie turned his attention back to Sonny.  “What are you doing here?  How did you find me?”

“I originally came for Erin, but it seems that she’s already made her escape.  Then Ally here tells me that you’re down here, so I figure, what the hell, I might as well bring Erin back her father too.”  Sonny called Charlie Erin’s father hoping it didn’t sound forced.

“We have to have a little talk about that.  Ally do you think you can give us a little privacy?”

“I’ll be in the passageway, just knock on the wall when you need me.”  Ally disappeared back into the black hole that they had come from and closed the door behind her.

“Sonny I think, it’s time that I tell you the truth about Erin.”  Charlie took a deep breath and said the painful statement that he hadn’t talked about sense the day Marie he told him the truth.  Erin isn’t my daughter…she’s yours.”

Sonny looked at him dumbfounded.  “You mean you knew?”

“Yes, Marie told me the day after she was born.  But how did you know?”  Charlie asked reversing the question back to Sonny.

Erin needed some blood and the records showed that you’re two blood types were impossible matches.  Ether the records were wrong in the hospital or Erin wasn’t your daughter.  I checked with my own records and the ones at the hospital were correct.”

“I’m glad you know.  That way it will be easier for you to tell her when I die that I wasn’t her real father.”

“Why do I have to tell her?  And what do you mean when you die?  You’re going to be just fine, I’m getting you out of here now.”

Sonny went over to him to help him out of the bed but Charlie held up his hand.  Erin deserves to know the truth, and I know that I’m dying, there’s no way around it.  Even if you get me out of here, there’ll be nothing that you can do for me, I’ve been on borrowed time ever sense the accident.  And I want you to tell her so that she won’t hate me when I die, I know it’s selfish but that’s what I want.”  Charlie looked down ashamed at his own statement.

“I don’t care what you say, we are telling her together, or she won’t know at all.  As for her hating you, she won’t, she’ll understand.  Now come on, I don’t know how much longer I can be in here before I’m seen.”  Sonny helped Charlie up out of the bed and half walked half carried him over to the wall.  He knocked softly and Ally was right there to open up the door.  When they were safely behind the hidden door Sonny turned to Ally.  “What’s the quickest way to get him out of here and off the premises?”

“This way, it will only take a few minutes.”  Ally turned down the opposite corridor that they had come from.

“Hold up a moment, I need to tell everyone else that I’m not going to meat up with them where we had planned.”  Sonny helped Charlie lean up against the wall and pulled out his watch.  He typed a quick message to Jason and told him to meat up with Jax and to get out of the house, he would meet up with them later.  “Okay, let’s get going.”
