Chapter 20

Erin woke up early the next morning.  “Morning young lady, I’m your doctor, Karen.  How are you feeling?”  Karen asked as she inspected the bandage.

“Fine.”

“That’s good,” Karen checked her pulse and then smiled at her.  “Looks like you’re going home this afternoon.  Now I want you to take it easy on your arm, and you should try to keep the bandage as dry as possible, okay?”

“Okay.”

“Good, now I’m going to leave and let your admirers back in here.”  Karen winked at her and left.

Nik came in seconds after the door had shut behind Karen.  “Hey beautiful.”  Nik walked over to her bed and kissed her on her forehead.

“Hey to you too.”  Erin smiled.

“So when do you get out of here?”  Nik asked eagerly.

“This afternoon.”

“That’s good.  You wouldn’t believe how scared I was when I got that call from Robin.  It reminded me of last time, we thought that we had lost you, and now the same thing is happening again.”  Nik sounded worried.

Nik, don’t worry.  Nothing like this is ever going to happen again.”

“And I’m going to make sure of that.”  Jason said from the doorway.

“What do you mean?”  Erin asked.  She wondered how long he had been standing there; she hadn’t heard him open the door.

“We’ll talk about that when we get back to the cottage.”

“Oh yeah, the cottage.  I’m going to have a fun time cleaning that place back up.  Luckily it’s just tables and chairs that need to be picked up.”

“No need, I already sent someone to clean it up.  But we had to replace the carpet in your room.  I’m pretty sure that it’s the same color.”  Jason told her.

“Thanks.”

“Don’t mention it.”

Jason left and a few minutes later Robin came in.  “Hey, sweaty.  How you holding up?”  Robin walked over to Erin’s bed and stroked her hair lovingly.

“I’m doing fine.  I just can’t weight until to get out of here.”

“That’s normal.”  Robin looked over at Nik.  “Could you give us a moment?  I need to talk to Erin alone.”

“No problem.  I’ll be out side if you need me.”  Nik whispered in Erin’s ear as he kissed her forehead.

After Nik left Robin smiled at Erin, “He’s sweat.”

“Yes he is.  What was it that you wanted to talk to me about?”

“It’s a good thing you’re lying down.” Erin looked up at her worriedly.  “No, it’s nothing bad.  It’s just a really big surprise.”  A childish smile plays across Robin’s lips.  “Well, it’s small right now, but it’s going to be big in about nine months.”

Erin’s jaw dropped open, she was speechless.  “You’re pregnet?  Oh my god, that’s wonderful!”  Erin exclaimed when she had recovered her voice.  She hugged Robin happily.  “So what do you want, a boy or girl?”

“Well, you know I don’t really care as long as it’s healthy but…I want a boy.”  Robin giggled.

“What are you going to name him?”

“Well the best name I can think of is Jason.”

“That will be perfect.”

“If he’s anything like his daddy then how could he be anything else?”

that afternoon

Erin walked back into the cottage.  Everything was quiet, which was kind of ironic after everything that had happened it should seem eirry, but it was more comforting then anything else.  Erin sat down in the wicker chair farthest from the door and watched as everyone else filed into the room.  First came Sonny, then Jason and Robin, then Luke, then Lucky, then Nikolas and last Stefan.  They all sat around the coffee table and looked at Erin.  “Okay we’re all here, now what?”

“We need to decide what to do next.  You nearly got kidnapped, again.  And we need to find out who is behind this and now.”  Luke looked around at everyone.

“Okay I’ll go with that, how are we going to do that, Luke?” Erin asked.

“I suggest that we find you a safe place to stay while Sonny Jason, and I go out on and hunt this person down.”

“What if they find her before we find them?”  Jax asked sternly.

“That won’t happen.”  Luke returned his voice rising.

“Yeah, but what if it does, are you going to suggest that she go on the run?  You of all people know how hard that is.  Do you really want to subject her to that?”  Jax answered his voice slightly higher the Luke’s.

“Listen it’s the safest and easiest way to take care of her.  All we have to do is find a safe place for her to stay, and if we are careful no one will find out she’s there, and we won’t have to deal with going on the run.  Do you think you can handle that Jasper?”  Luke said, his eyes closing until they were just angry slits.

“No I can’t handle that.  It’s too risky for Erin.  What do you suggest that we put her in some hide away in the woods for who-knows how long?  What if she needs help?  What if something happens?”  Jax moved in closer to Luke threatening his power.

“If you don’t like my idea then let’s hear what’s rolling around in all that open space between your ears.”  Luke shot back.

Jax glared at him.  “Let me take Erin to Malibu, where she can be safe, and my brother and I can track this person down.  If anyone can find this guy it will be Jerry.”

“Well excuse me if I don’t have that much faith in a man who blows things up for a living.  I still think that we can handle this just fine.”

“Sorry Dad, but I’m with Jax, I’ve seen his brother in action and I think that they have a little more resources then you three.”  Lucky put in.

“I’m with them too.”  Nikolas said.

“Sorry Cowboy but I don’t think that the Jax brothers have enough power to do what needs to be done.”  Luke told his son while giving Jax the evil eye.

“Pardon me, but I don’t see what all the commotion is about.  Things like this happen all the time.  In my experience the only thing need be done is put a few guards on Miss Brown and these men will eventually give up.”  Stefan suggested calmly from where he sat.

“Who asked you?”  Luke said coldly.  “Why are you even here?  I don’t recall inviting you to join our little party.”

When Luke said that all hell broke loose.  Nik jumped in to defend his uncle, and Lucky defended his father.  Stefan then suggested that Erin was only in danger because of her involvement with Sonny and Jason, Jax seconded that idea.  Finally Jason jumped in and defended that if it hadn’t been for them, they would have never gotten Erin back from Stefan’s mother.  Amidst all the yelling going on, Sonny and Robin just sat back and watched the circus.
