Chapter 18

Robin and Jason were weighting for Erin to get out of surgery when Sonny showed up.  They filled him in on everything that had happened, he was even more upset then Jason had been.  He left to make a few calls, Robin knew better then to ask to whom.

Nik was then next person to show up, along with Stefan.  “Where is she?”  Nik asked running over to Robin.

“She’s still in surgery.”

“How long has she been in there?  Is she okay?  Have you heard anything form the doctors?”  Nik questioned her worriedly.

“Calm down Nikolas.  She’s been in there a wile, but she’s in good hands.  Bobbie’s in there with her and she promised to tell us what’s going on.”  Robin touched his shoulder reassuringly.

Just then yelling could be heard coming from the elevators.  Robin rolled her eyes in announce.  “What do you want to bet that Jax and Sonny ended up in the same elevator?”  Robin joked to Jason.

“It sounds like more then two people to me.”  Jason responded.

Sure enough Sonny and Jax rounded the corner, seconds later Luke, Lucky and Liz came into view.

Amy spotted the group from her perch in the nurse’s station and leaned over to the nurse who was standing next to her.  “This is going to be interesting.”

Amy was right, they were and interesting sight, everyone talking at once and no one listening to anyone else.  “None of this would have happened if she hadn’t of been associated with you Corinthose.”  Jax accused.

“And where were you when she needed someone?  Right after Brenda’s funeral you took off.  Didn’t you even think that she might need you?”  Sonny retorted.

“I had to deal with my own grief I couldn’t handle being here.”  Jax protested.

“She loved Brenda too, and she would have had to deal with by herself if it hadn’t of been for us.  Who did she turn to when she missed her?  Who did she go to when she needed help?  Jason and I.  Andy why, because you were off dealing with your grief.  So I wouldn’t be talking about who is to blame here.”  Sonny finished.

Jax was just about to respond when Bobbie made her presence known.  “Will everyone just shut up!  she shouted.  “Thank you.  Now who is Erin’s garden?”

“I am.”  Sonny stepped forward.

“Okay, we were able to dislodge the bullet from her arm.  They are stitching her up as we speak.”

“How long will it be before we can see her?”  Nik asked.

“She’ll be out for a few more minutes but you can see her as soon as she gets out of the OR.  Due to the circumstances I would like to suggest that her room be on restriction.”  Sonny nodded his head  in agreement.  “Okay, I’ll need you to make a list of people that will be able to have access to her room, and I’ll assign myself as her nurse, is there anyone you want to take my place if I’m not able to get to her?”

Robin thought a moment.  “I think she’ll feel comfortable if Amy was the other nurse, she was her nurse a few years back.”

“Okay,” Bobbie looked down at her notepad.  “Dr. Karen Scanlon will be her doctor.  She was the one who performed the surgery.”

“Thank you Bobbie, for all your help.”  Robin said thankfully.

“It’s no problem.  I’m going to got check on Erin and see if she’s out of surgery.”  Bobbie turned around and left.  She whispered a little prayer for Erin.  Bobbie couldn’t imagine being her, and having to deal with that group coming in to her room.  That group would put the Quartermaine’s squabblings to shame.

Robin took Jax aside.  Jax, Sonny did have a point.  How could you have left us all like that.  I know you had to deal with your pain, but what about the rest of us.  How were we to deal with it?  We all needed you here.”  Robin paused realizing that what she was saying sounded a little coarse.  “There was a message on Erin’s answering machine saying that you weren’t going to be home for a few more days.  What made you come back?”  Robin asked changing the subject.

“I was talking to V and she told me that she had been calling Erin everyday filling her in on things.  That’s when I decided that everyone had been through enough and it was time for me to come back.  The first place I went was the cottage, no one was there but on my way back out I ran into some old woman that told me Erin was in the hospital.  So I came strait here.”

“Where are the twins?  And V?”  Robin asked realizing that she hadn’t seen them.

“I let V take them home.  I didn’t want to bring them in here when I saw Corinthos in the lobby.”

“You know, I think Erin would really like it if they were here when she woke up.”  Robin hinted.

“I’ll call V and have her bring them right over.”  Jax got the hint and pulled out his cell phone.

“You do that, I’m going to go back to make sure that they aren’t trying to kill each other.”  Robin hurried back to the group.

“Mr. Corinthos?” a tall dark haired woman asked.

“That’s me.”  Sonny stepped forward to meet the woman.  Sonny looked at the woman in astonishment.  “Karen?  Karen Wexeler?”  It couldn’t be?  Could this be the same woman that used to dance in his club?

“Hey Sonny, long time no see.  And it’s Scanlon now.”  Karen held up her left had.  “A lot has changed.”

“I would say so.”  Sonny said amazed.

“Oh, as I was going to say, I’m Erin’s doctor.  Are you her father?”  Karen asked, she hadn’t heard anything about Sonny having a daughter but then again this was Port Charles and anything was possible.

“No I’m her guardian.”  Responded sadly.

“Sorry I just had to ask.  Now I need to discuss her situation with you.  Will you fallow me?”  Karen led Sonny off to a quiet aria where she could talk to him in private.

“Why did she take him off to the side?  Does that mean there is something wrong?”  Nik asked Robin worriedly.

“I don’t know.  We’ll just have to weight for Sonny to tell us what’s going on.”

Sonny came back to the group with a shocked look on his face.  “Sonny what’s going on?  Is everything okay?”  Robin asked.

“Huh?  Oh, no, she’s going to be fine.”  Sonny rested his had on her shoulder.  “She’s out of sugary and we can go in to see her in a few minutes.  She’s going to be just fine.”

“Thank god.  I was really worried.  What room is she going to be in?”  Nik asked anxiously.

“I don’t know, Karen didn’t tell me.”

Ten minutes later Erin was brought into her room.  Nik was the first one in there, then V showed up with the twins.  Robin had been right, they were just what she needed to see.  People were going in and out of her room until Bobbie told them all that visiting hours were over and that they all had to leave.  Sonny insisted on staying with her and Bobbie let him, she knew better then to argue with him, when he made a decision neither heaven nor hell could move him.
