Parliment of Dreams

"Come."

"Garibaldi? I thought you'd be in full dress by now. Lond's going to hos a demonstration of Centauri religious ceremonies. From what I've heard, it helps to be on time. Apparently these things can last up to a week: eating, purging, eating, purging--"

"Ah."

"I appreciate that."

"No, no...that's all right. Thanks."

"Mike. Was she with anyone?"

~~~~~~~
"Let me get back to you."
"Absolutely."
"I am! Words just can't express ho much I'm enjoying this."
"Where is she?"
~~~~~~~

"Catherine."

"No. No, I don't...uh...you're obviously here to do business and that's what Babylon 5 is here for. It's not a problem."

"Fine. Busy."

"Good. Last Iheard. She and I went our separate ways about a year ago. She wanted me to quit and go into business with her as a trader, but that's not me.""

"I know...I was just...."

"Catherine...as long as you're here on stop-over, if you don'thave any other plans...how about dinner?"

"Just dinner. this is my station and I'm very proud of her. I'd like to show you around a little, if you have time."

~~~~~~~
"I'm off duty."
"Maybe you didn't kow me as well as you think."
"Catherine."
"And you?"
"Thank you."
"I don't see why..seems like we run into each other eery two or three years. Half the time I'm with someone else or you're with someone else. The other half--"
"Or you leave. Last time it was you."
"Yes, it was."
"I think about you in the Fall."
"I think we just jumped ahead. We're supposed to reminesce about the Academy and ask about old friends first, remember?"
"I know. It was always three parts passion, two parts teeth with us, wasn't it?"
"I agree."
[full laugh] "Neither can I."
~~~~~~~

["I am become a name; For always roaming with a hungry heart

Much have I seen and known, -- cities of men

And manners, climates, councils, governments,

Myself not least, but honor'd of them all, --

And drunk delight of battle with my peers, . . ." Tennyson's Ulysses]

"Pause. Come."

"Catherine."

"We find meaning where we can."

"I didn't know you'd mmorized it."

"Catherine, Idon't think this is a good idea."

"What do you want from me?"

"I couldn't do that. You have to know me better than that."

"Yes."

"Fine, fine...authorization granted."

"Catherine."

"Don't."

~~~~~~~
"I'm fine."
"It's been a long road, hasn't it..the Academy...the war."
"I don't know. Maybe . . . maybe not."
~~~~~~~

"Ambassador, enjoying the last day of the festival?"

"He's in a good mood. Who knows? Maybe Earth Central is right about this festival idea. I can't believe how quiet it's been the last day or so."

"You sure you have to go?"

"I'm not leaving this time."

"Not yet. And Idon't know how I'm oing to top the Minbari rituals: bells, drums, robes, and little pieces of fruit."

"Yeah."

"Yes. It's suppose to be part of the Rebirth Ceremony...what?"

"Maybe that's why G'Kar's smiling. Funny, Ididn't think Londo was his type."

"See you next Wednesday?"

"I don't know."

~~~~~~~
"All right. We're all set. If you'll come this way."
"This is Mr. Harris; he's an atheist. Father Chrisanti, a Roman Catholic . . . . ."
