Maria says Forget It!
This week on AMC, Maria tries to regain control of her life, but what life will she choose, that of Maria or Maureen?
In order to get some perspective, Maria decides to make an appointment with Zeke, PV's psychiatrist. "After talking with him, Maria decides that the only person she knows she is right now is Maureen," says Eva La Rue Callahan (Maria). "She starts to insist that people call her Maureen.
I think she's resenting being pushed into (Maria's) persona because she feels like nobody wants to get to know her for who she is." After talking with Zeke, Maria meets with Edmund so that she can tell him how she wants to live her future. "Of course, he doesn't understand it because he wants so badly for her to just be Maria," explains Callahan.
Alas, she has made up her mind. "She's starting to resent being pushed, pushed, pushed by somebody who's a stranger to her. Although she's finding out how much he loves her, she doesn't feel any of it for him because she simply doesn't know him."
Faced with no choice but to accept this latest disappointment, Edmund accompanies Maria to tell Sam and Maddie that the woman they've always known as their mother won't be living with them at Wildwind.
"They're very confused as to who is going to be their mother - Brooke or Maria," says Callahan, adding that, "Maria really wants to get to know them, and hopes that the love will come after that."
A crestfallen Edmund then tells Brooke that Maria doesn't want to be the "Maria" she once was. As Brooke comforts him, they end up sharing an embrace. Will Edmund decide he wants to be with Brooke, considering that Maria is out of the picture? Or has her betrayal permanently driven a wedge between the two of them?
