The Top Ten Reasons Brooke and Edmund Should have a Child Together

1. A baby would forever connect Brooke and Edmund together, and be a  symbol of everything good they have shared together through the years.

2. As Edmund supports Brooke through this difficult pregnancy, it  would strike a cord for Maureen back to the first triangle when he  claimed to love Maria, but always dropped her when Brooke needed him.

3. The Santos family is livid with Brooke because of her lie.  Isabella went as far as wishing Brooke dead. Family events and  holidays with the entire extended family would lead to interesting  conflict and maybe one-day acceptance.

4. While Edmund and Maria have children together, the natural bond  between parents doesn't really exist between them. Besides the fact that Maureen does not remember her children. There was a  custody claim over Sammy, which led to Maria's infidelity. And Maria didn't even know Maddie was Edmund's child until the plane crash. Raising this child together would be a unique bonding  experience for Brooke and Edmund.

5. While Brooke's initial guilt might tempt her to runaway or claim someone else is the father, she would have to tell Edmund the  truth considering what happened when she withheld the truth from him  last time.

6. While Edmund's initial reaction may be anger because the child was conceived after Brooke knew the facts about Maria, he will  eventually believe the baby to be a blessing. Perhaps, preparing  some of the damage done to his character because of his mean and  cruel treatment of Brooke.

7. While no child can replace another. Brooke loves Edmund more  than any other man, having a daughter with him would go a long way  toward finally healing Brooke over the loss of her beloved Laura.

8. If Maria and Edmund end up together, they will need some external  source of conflict to keep them from being placed on the backburner.  Maria could easily begin to resent the time and connection Edmund  shares with Brooke and their child.
9. Ruth Warwick isn't getting any younger and not to be crass, but it would be a shame to miss Aunt Phoebe holding her little  namesake in her arms.

10. The B&E fans deserve something positive out of this debacle of  a storyline in which Brooke's character has been compromised and  sacrificed for the sake of Maria's return.
