Hold up toy car; pass around for examination 2. Ask students to identify car windows, doors, wheels, and the like 3. Have students associate small car to real car. Elicit responses that toy car is smaller than real car. 4. Explain that toy car is model for real car. Major Instructional Sequence: 1. Hold up globe; pass around for examination 2. Explain that the globe is a model of the Earth. The Earth is much larger than the globe , but is the same shape (ball/sphere). 3. Discuss land and water forms on the globe. The blue part is water and the colored part is land. 4. Have pupils point to parts of the globe and identify as land or water. 5.
