| Learning Activites The student will: 1. Learn map and globe skills 2. Locate Zimbabwe on the globe and make 2 dimensional globes 3. Compare Zimbabwe's physical features to Louisiana by making maps of both places. 4. Compare their houses to traditional houses in Zimbabwe by making drawings and 3 dimensional sculptures. 5. Make an African Animal book 6. Make a 3 dimensional sculpture of Great Zimbabwe 7. Discuss the importance of masks and make African masks 8. Listen to a varitey of African stories and learn about the oral tradition of storytelling 9. Listen to a variety of African music, make their own African drum,and discuss its importance in African music 10. Make a Zimbabwe bulletin board by making a large Zimbabwe flag, putting pictures of animals, houses, and other pictures. Table of Contents |
