| The inspiration for this is partly my aunt's fault. She's the only person I know who can bitch at you constantly and almost make you want to cry if it wasn't for the fact that she was giving you the shirtof her back in the process and you know she was just being honest and didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I figure Quatre's one of those. Unbeta'd 'cause I can't find Misuzu. *pouts* Title: Temper Tantrums (10th in the Children's Series) Author: Lady DarkAngel Ladydarkangel_1 @ yahoo.com Archive: Lady DarkAngel's Gundam Wing FanfictionLibrary http://www.geocities.com/ladydarkangel_1/index.html,Darkflame's (if she'll take it.) and anywhere else is fine, just ask me first Category: POV, humor I guess Pairing(s): Nyah, nyah, I ain't picked yet. With my plethora of female siblings, their accompanying families, the Maguanacs and *their* families, the other pilots and various people I've picked up along the way, I am intimately acquainted with the total aggravation phenomenon. Blood relation or someone I've chosen for my own, it doesn't matter; all can be a royal pain in the ass if given the chance. Duo's taken his chance and stolen some extra ones just for good measure. I mean, honestly! How can the man stand before a mirror and look at himself without being ashamed?! And I know he has shame, he's just really good at hiding it! This grand master of orchestrated familial chaos is unrepentant, undeterred, under the gun and still has the nerve to smile! The cheek this this *sharmute*(1) exhibits when wreaking havoc on both property and people is incredible. He is single-handedly driving Heero to drink. Yes, you heard me. Drink. Duo got him addicted to IBC Root Beer and now they go through at least five cases a week. Personally, I think giving a caffeine-loaded, sugar water syrup concoction to an already trigger-happy psychopath in a high-stress situation is ASKING FOR IT but the braided idiot says it's good for him somehow. If Heero has a caffeine freakout, I'm not dealing the aftermath. He's got Wufei treating the kids like gods. I think he replaced Nataku's picture in his shrine with theirs. Sure, he acts all tough and strict but all they have to do is turn the Pleading, Pitiful Puppy Eyes Version 5.2 on him and he's mush. Absolute mush. The Perfect Soldier, too. These guys took torture like pros, stood up to OZ without fear, and spat in death's face. They can't say no to two tiny twins and their keeper? And the fact and implications that he got twins does NOT escape me. Allah has a most strange but ultimately powerful sense of justice. Duo, he of the split personalities (take that in the context you want), he who thinks of everything with two points of view, the loner who is never really alone, keeper and feeler of pleasure and pain in equal measure, now has twins. I've yet to decide if this is punishment or reward. If the dual theme holds true, they're probably both. And in typical fashion, he takes the good in life right in and kicks the bad out the front door where everyone visiting can't help but trip over it. No, Rashid. I'm not losing control over my metaphors. They're perfectly fine the way they are. Oh, grab that jumper! Van will look so cute in that! What was I saying? Control... yes! There's no control in that family. My father used to use a phrase he picked up from some business partner a while back (and although he was a pacifist too, he certainly wasn't politically correct), "For every village, there must be one only one chief and many Indians" Well, there's no chief in the Village of the Damned! We've got three main contenders for the title, at least 4 wannabes and two insurgents intent on sabotaging the process for their own gain. The wannabes? Well, Trowa, Dorothy, Relena and Sally, of course. *No*, not me. I'm not involved in this power struggle. I refuse to fall prey to such idiocies. And if I had any say in the matter, we wouldn't *have* this problem! Sometimes I get the urge to go over there and take everyone by the scruff of the neck, knock some sense into them, grab the reins and run that household like it SHOULD BE!!! Rashid, polite as that was, it was still rude and I suggest you take that back before I take you to task for it. That's better. You and the others have been spending FAR too much time with Duo if that's the first response that comes to mind when talking to your employer. Something else to grip at him about. Damn nit's giving me a heart-ache like you won't believe. And I am NOT CRANKY!! I would have thought Heero and Wufei would have been more then enough for Duo to handle but he's taking them out at the knees. The only reason why they're still standing is they're stubborn as all hell and they think there's strength in numbers. This will be a long battle if some sort of peace isn't worked out. A diplomatic intervention and solution is needed. Duo can't do whatever he feels like when he feels like it, Heero's not God and Perfection Incarnate and Wufei's word isn't the Law. Logically, the ideal situation would be to have Duo's freedom, love and kindness, Heero's strength, protection and guidance and Wufei's morals, rules and wisdom. They need to sit down, talk it out, write out an agreement and follow it to survive. Like that will ever happen. Oh! That! I'm not sure if they know how to ride yet but those will be perfect bikes of them. And let's see if we can find matching helmets. And maybe get their names put on them I do not spoil them rotten! They deserve things like this I wonder if they carry adult sizes in this style? Would you send Abdul to find out if we can get 3 more? No, make that 5. And send Zaijen to order the helmets, please. Green for Heero, black for Duo, white for Wufei, gold for me, brown for Trowa, blue for Daisuke and purple for Delavan. Actually, see if we can get the names embossed in silver and a decal as well? I don't care how much it costs, just make sure it looks nice. What was I saying? Oh yes. I do not spoil them. What they need is communication. None of them have any. Duo's not trying to raise anarchists. Well, not destructive anarchists. I mean, he's shimatta, he just wants to have fun with them. He's not raising bad kids nor does he intend to. But it's too much of a game right now for him and not enough of a responsibility. Wufei wants to raise proper children in the honorable tradition of his clan. He wants them genteel, educated, respectfully and dutiful. But there's too much duty and not enough joy to make him the boss. And Heero? Heero's rigid, hesitant and totally out of his league. This is a learning experience for him (all of them, actually) but you don't give the keys to a complete novice if you can help it. So who leads? The strongest, Heero? The wisest, Wufei? The sweetest, Duo? None of them is qualified for total leadership. But they won't agree to a council or alliance. As Duo screamed at time with the pepper bombs, "There can be only one!" They won't vote on it, they won't defer to another outside authority and have refused arbitration. And thus the ground wars at the Home for Atoning Gundam Pilots continue. I hear Dorothy's planning on recording the picnic on Saturday in case something happens. Yes, tell Quira to verify the menu. Duo and Relena had last minute updates and I know Auda needed a final version by tonight to be ready on time. I don't think we'll really have all 76 dishes requested but we'll try and work out something reasonable. Control is key. If it's lost, if won't come back easily. It must be held onto with both hands and some duct tape. It's a madhouse over there; no set bedtime, potluck dinners *and* lunches, three sets of rules for household management no one follows anyways and play always comes before housework. Simply terrible. Why do I bother? *Rashid*! How could you even think to ask that, even if it *was* a joke? Because they're family, damnit. I'm supposed to worry about them. I care, I worry, I hope and I wish. All for them, all because of them. That's how it is. They are a part of us as much as we are a part of them. For all their faults, problems and stupidity, I love them all as the family they are. No anger can change that, no matter how badly they I think they're screwing things up. Doesn't mean I can't be pissy about it every now and then, though. ~ Owari ~ (1) Think I spelled that right. According to an Arabic friend, this is the much, *much* ruder equivalent of baka and should be used with caution.
