Strawberry Shortcake Dolls, all grown up.

Girls of my generation surely played with Strawberry
Shortcake dolls when they were young. These dolls were popular
during the early and mid-1980s. I always wondered what happened
to the kids from Strawberryland when they grew up. So, I decided
to give them all careers now that they're as grown up (relatively
speaking) as I am. I've only got the two done for now. Bases by

On the left is Strawberry Shortcake, herself, now the head of the
Strawberryland business conglomerate and all grown-up in her red
silk business suit. She still wears the stripey socks, of course;
all the dolls wore them, and it's a feature I've decided to keep
(and they actually look half decent, thanks to Xandorra's Amy Brown-style
stripey socks tutorial).
Next to her is Apple Dumplin'. She was just a wee tot when the
dolls came out, and she was my favorite toy for months when I was
all of four years old. My parents tell me I hardly ever put her
down. She's grown up to be a fitness instructor and personal trainer
to the rich and famous (can you tell I like to give my dolls lofty
career aspirations? *g*).
