welcome to knotted threads New window dressings! This is Knotted Threads, version 5.0 - "Storm." Note: The picture used in the triptych at left is not of my own making. It's been sitting on my hard drive forever, and I've forgotten where I found it, and who the artist is. If you recognize it, please don't hesitate to email me, and I will give due credit posthaste. I did the knotwork borders myself, using the excellent knotwork fonts available from Clanbadge.com. This is another iframes layout, which I have deemed the easiest sort of site to maintain if I keep redesigning all the time. There is nothing more aggravating than going through and editing ALL the menu bars on ALL the pages and subpages and so on and so forth. So. I shall edit each one once and be done with it! I LIKE efficiency. If all goes as planned, This text should be in the large frame box, while links and menus and things are in the smaller box at left. The navigation bar at the top of the menu frame should allow for transition between menus, with the exception of the "Journal" button, which brings up my (woefully un-updated) journal here in the main box. Clicking the "Home" link will bring up the main menu over on the left. From this menu, you'll be able to access all the various things connected to my journal (webrings, bloghop, friends and reads, etc.), plus pages about me and about the things that interest me. To view my journal, which is the main reason I set up this site in the first place, click the "Journal" link. It's powered by LiveJournal, a journaling service which I highly recommend. Note that typing in my traditional weblog address (this one) will still bring up my journal/blog in all its glory. And yes, I am aware of the differences between a journal and a weblog, but mine is usually a little of both. One of the things I truly love to do is write. I write poetry, short fiction, and an occasional philosophical essay, in addition to the technical writing I do in connection with my education and career. I haven't got much of it up at present, but more of my works will be added to my "writings" page as time allows. Clicking the "writings" link will bring up the appropriate menu, from which my poetry and prose selections are accessible. I will be putting up some more fiction in relatively short order, as I was very kindly invited to join the Fiction Bloggers webring by its administrator, James Bow. Thanks James! I've also discovered the joys of cartoon dollmaking. Click the "Dolls" link to access the menu which will allow you to go to the collection of pages where I keep my humble graphics efforts. Oh, and please have a glance at the credits. I gathered the resources to make this page from several places, and they're all recognized there. Want to leave the webmistress a message? Perhaps comment on the new design? Have a suggestion or two? All comments are welcome! Drop me a line. Thank you for visiting! I hope you enjoyed your stay. |
