| This is Empress (The Empress of Ireland). She is recruited by Queenie to join the Cool Chicks. Her colors are emerald green and gold. Empress (whose civilian name was Sara Flannagan) is actually a veteran of streetwarfare. She was involved in the freedom movement (against the IRA) in Ireland. She left the movement when her boyfriend was killed in an attempt on her life. This was also when she acquired her leprechauns (Connie, Connor, Bryan and Torrence), and they are fiercely protective of her. She's the only one who can see them, but everyone (with the exception of Crapty) believes they exist. She, like Queenie, is in fact the ruler of her country. Empress has no delusions about the Cool Chicks. She knows there is little glory, and infinite sadness, in this kind of war. She warns Queenie that she won't like what she sees. At first Empress merely plans to get the Cool Chicks on their feet, and then leave. After all, it's not her fight. But she soon realizes that she can't. She sees herself in Queenie, and is drawn into the heart of the movement. She decides to bury her past and carry on with the crusade. (C) 2001, Charlotte May |

| This is Empress and Tommy on the eve of the battle for Princess' world. When the Cool Chicks crossed over into Shadow, they found that when Tommy died he was approached by Queen Don--Princess' mother-- who offered to bring him to Shadow to live, because he had ancestors from her kingdom. He cannot return to the "Younglands", the part of earth that humans inhabit. He dies in the ensuing battle. (C) 1999, Charlotte May |

| This is Empress (and her leprechauns), doing a Riverjig performance. After the Chicks break up (after Matt dies) Sara goes back to dancing to try to bury her past--particularly the memory of losing Tommy TWICE. It doesn't work.
