Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
***

Fire breathing dragons, green scaled merefolk, and a maze where danger lurks around every corner; these are just a few of the dangers awaiting Harry Potter as he returns to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for his fourth year, and the Triwizard Tournament.

First, I have to give the folks at Industrial Light and Magic credit; the special effects are flawless. The computer generation is seamless. All their hard work would really have enhanced the story, if there was anything to enhance in the first place

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the weakest Harry Potter movie yet. The plot is ill thought out. Important threads of the story are completely missing; the conclusions at the end are drawn completely from thin air. There is little leading up to anything; for example, Winky the House Elf is completely missing as well as Bartimus Crouch's strange appearances and disappearances.

The weakness of the film, surprisingly, is in no way the fault of the actors. I have to give them credit for making it as good of a show as they did; the script gave them nothing to work with.

Warner Borthers needs to get some new writers. Only for the sake of the people at ILM and the actors is this film even worth anyone's time.
