Mission Statement

The Ladybug Project is an attempt by teenagers to create an enviroment where views can be shared, discussed, analysed, and dissected to form a better understanding of each other and to try to find common ground on major issues facing American society today. The Ladybug Project is a non-profit site dedicated to responsible freedom of speech and respect for others. Our motto is "agree to disagree."

About Ladybug

This site is meant to be a place where teens can express their views. It is neither libral nor conservative, relgious or secular. It's not about who can win the debate or who knows more than who. It's about learning from each other and finding ways to solve differences. Who knows what we can do when we work together?

Why Ladybug? Simply, why not? Actually, the address of this geocities was already ladybug565565, so when the idea for this site hit, we just took what was already there and built the new site around the old.

Now, the whole point of this site is freedom of speech. But there are things that the Ladybug Staff and readers will not tolerate. Blatant disrespect, like calling someone or their article/post stupid, will not be tolerated. If a visitor repeatedly sends us emails with "stupid," "dumb," etc. in it, or sends hate mail, they will be marked as spam and will no longer be able to post anything online through The Ladybug Project. I don't think it can be any clearer than that.

The staff also asks that all posting/emails contain family friendly language for our younger readers. Any that are not edited by the sender will have asteriks (*) replacing the words when they appear or will be asked for a rewrite. We don't want to have to edit anyone's writing so please be responsible for what you say simply as a courtesy to everyone. Thanks.
