| I do believe people are born with their sexuality and that it is as unchangeable as your natural eye color. I do not believe that people choose to be straight, gay, or bisexual. People are born that way. And I hope with my pages that I will open people's eyes to this fact. When people look back at history, how many times have we been wrong before? We believe non-white people were inferior. WE WERE WRONG! We believed women were of lesser intelligence than men. WE WERE WRONG! People need to start seeing that being gay and bisexual is not a choice. Why would people choose to be hated, feared, thrown out of their families, homes, churches, and communities? I wouldn't choose that. I didn't choose that! But that doesn't mean I can deny who I am. And I shouldn't have to. I am lucky my parents love and accept me for who I am. But not everyone does or will. It will always be a hard life to live. But it is better to live a hard life than to live a lie. Jesus taught to hate the sin and not the sinner. Whether you are a Christian, Jewish, another religion, or no religion at all, this is a great lesson to believe in and hold dear to your heart. All of us are sinners and sexual preference (when it involves two consenting adults) is not the worst sin a person can commit. |
