| Cherice started her scouting career in Brownie Troop 227 at the age of 6. She progressed to Junior Troop 988 and then to Cadette and Senior Troop 375. Cherice has served the GiRl Scouts of the San Antonio Area in a variety of ways, she served as a Girl Board Member and Council Delegate and pArticipated in numerouse community wide services along side her troop. Her awards and honors include Girl Scout Silver Award, Girl Scout Gold Award, Texas Girl Scout "Young Achiever of the Year", National "Outstanding Top Teen of America", Health Occupations of America's, "Outstanding HOSA Member", TTA National Special Bee Champion and United Way's "Mayor's Youth Award." Cherice graduated from Judson High School in 1999, Magna Cumme Laude, with 20 Scholarships and a full $160,000 Presidential Scholarship to Tulane Univeristy. Sadly at the end of her sophmore year at college, on March 21, 2001, Cherice went to be with our Lord. She died that morning of Meningitis at Tulane University. Although we miss her dearly her legacy and aspirations will continue to thrieve in the Cherice Cochrane Mentoring Foundation and through the presenting of a "Gold Award" Girl Scout Scholarship for Seniors.
