Gloves! (pg 2)
ALMOST completed glove (still needs a pink ruffle at the seam line)
I added the metallic gold lace to the edges, after I had sewn on some flat gold sequins to the points (YES, I have the metal spangles ordered, but they are slow in getting here and I AM impatient...remember?  lol)
The lace was purchased from Trim Tex in Williamsport, PA at their mill store sale; the back side was white until I took a gold leafing-pen to it and pounced gold paint on the back!
The same flat gold sequins (I got them off of sequin trim-by-the-yard) are scattered within the embroidered motifs.
Finished pics to follow as soon as I FINISH this glove!  THEN on to do the other one...
From the day I traced the pattern onto the silk for the cuff to this point, the one glove has taken me about 50 hours...which is a guesstimate, as I actually sewed both hand-parts of the glove together first...And of course, the first half of a project always proceeds much faster than the second one!

\/ As promised, the finished gloves!  Pink ruffle has been added to cover the wrist seam; the only things missing are the tabs on the cuff...future changes include re-working the hand of the glove in leather, and lengthening the fingers to Elizabethan-fashionable length!                    (photo by Lois Swales)
